We are a family of 5 with lodging reservations in one of the Curry Village cabins without bath at the end of August. I understand there are 2 full-size beds in the cabin. How much open floor space is available in the cabin? Is there enough room to put a twin-size air mattress on the floor? Or do we need to plan on a narrower backpacking air mattress (about the width of a sleeping bag)?

Also, how hot/stuffy do those cabins get? Can we open windows to get decent air flow, or is a small fan needed to tolerate the heat?

Thanks,

Dwane

If you ger a cabin with bath there is enough room to have the 5th on the floor for sleeping, There are windows to open and we have stayed and do not find them stuffy at all. Enjoy your stay.

This is a hard sided cabin I assume? They are generally very small but I think a twin air mattress might fit though bringing the backpacking one is probably a good idea.

Yosemite in the summer can be hot. We usually car camp there but last August stayed at Yosemite Valley Lodge and will be there again next weekend. We were on the ground floor and it was tolerable but still a little stuffy with the loud fans on. It's dry heat and not usually humid.

Yes there is room on the floor but it will tight. If you can bring camp chairs or beach chairs that would make the evenings nicer for relaxing outside. When we stayed there was a fan in the room. It was needed. If you have a travel fan or can pick one up extra air circulation will be welcome.

Enjoy. The cabins are cozy and there aren’t a lot of them. You’re close to Happy Isles and the mist trail. .
