We are an active family of 4 - 2 in our mid 50's and 2 in mid 20's. We will be driving from Lake Tahoe the last week of June and spending 1 night just outside of Yosemite. Here is our current plan.
Leave early from Tahoe (we are flying in the night before from FL so will get an early start)
Drive to Yosemite with possible stop at Bodie or Mono Lake. Enter Tioga Pass Entrance. Go to Tuolumne Meadows and do the Cathedral Lake Trail, pothole dome and Olmsted Point Trail. We would then drive to Tuolumne Grove and stay there as long as possible but want to drive to our accommodations at Yosemite Lakes Hillside Yurt off of Hardin Flat Road before it gets dark.
Rise early the next morning and drive into Yosemite Valley. Stop at Tunnel View. Drive to Happy Isles or Curry Village and park to hike the Mist Trail (possibly Nevada Falls) to the Jon Muir Trail. Next hike is Yosemite Falls and then a stop at the swinging bridge before heading back to Lake Tahoe. Hope is to get there before dark.
Is this doable and in the correct order? We hiked the 5 UT National Parks last summer so rising early and long days of hiking aren't an issue.
