The South Gate on Hwy 41 is the best choice from FAT.

At this exact moment, there is a delay at the South Entrance Gate so Hwy 41 is red. That's where folks show their in-the-park lodging reservations OR their Peak Hours Entry Permit as well as pay the entrance fee or show an annual pass. The delay could be a few minutes or more. My delay was 48 minutes. I drove by the South Gate exiting a week later at the same time and the delay was about 1 or 2 minutes. It is possible that entry permits or overnight lodging inside the Park will again be a requirement in May 2023, but we don't know.

I recommend using specific locations rather than "Yosemite Valley" on Google Maps. Use the name of the lodging or specific parking lot. One way roads in Yosemite Valley can make things confusing.
