1. Re: Safety

Most Zanzibar Beaches are generally safe locations, but its always unadvisable to venture out far and away from a hotel beach or public place all along by yourself especialy while with valuables like cash, gadjets watches, cameras jewellery etc. This will be inviting thieves.

Incidents of thieves and bandits do occur but rarely after all Zanzibar is a developing country.

My advice is when you get to your location ask the staff which location nearby will be safe for you to walk by yourself that has not had any recent bandits experience.

, Do take the advice given by either the good samaritan locals and staff at hotel.

Cheers & Peace

Hi. Paje is one of the most beautiful beaches on the east coast. Zanzibar is a safe destination, however, as you have already read, it is not recommended to go on the beach after sunset and this regardless of the place.

November is a fabulous month; this is the season of spring and the colors of nature are even more intense.

Yes, the dollars are also accepted, however it is always advisable to have also shillings; sometimes in small restaurants on the beach or to purchase souvenirs in Stone Town, only local currency is accepted.

The price of a meal varies depending on your choice (pizza or fish or meat). In any case the average price is about 13/15$ per person.
