Travel from Uvita to Povenes

Going to visit Uvita and noticed that Pavones is 3 hrs away. Last time we visited we decided to drive from Tamarindo to Nosara a beautiful and exciting drive along the coast. Even though its a hour longer driveto Pavones is it similar? Than why does google maps send me back to San Jose through Jaco instead of up the 2?

Pavones is an easy drive along the coast, but getting down to the beach you'll want to be sure to have a 4x4 vehicle because it's a less developed area and the roads are rough. Highway 2 takes you to the southern part of San Jose (Cartago). It's a long, switch-back filled road through the mountains - absolutely beautiful, but long and a little dangerous. The coastal highway through Jaco is straight and easy, plus there are more places to stop. If you want to explore the mountains, go for it. If you're just trying to get back for your flight, stick to the coastal highway.

are you asking if nosara is similar to pavones or is the drive similar? i don't think the towns are similar but i have only been to nosara once. if it's the drive you're talking about then maybe a little with the most interesting part starting at comte, but it can be a little complicated getting there from rio claro because many of the signs after thr rio coto tend to be obscured by foliage so a gps would be very handy here. going through paso canoas is much simpler, but much further.
