I am travelling to Langkawi on 17/Dec with family. I shall be staying in Cenang Plaza Beach hotel. I heard Pantai Kok is mostly dominated by Sheraton and Tanjung Sanctuary. Should I go there with my family and shall we be able to enjoy the beach freely?

The Sheraton (which is now called Centuary) and Tanjung Santuary (which has been demolished and is being rebuilt), are no where near Pantai Kok. However, the beach at Pantai Kok is full of building works for some new resort which is being built there. So yes you can visit the beach freely but I do not think it will be a good experience and you may be best sticking to Pantai Cenang or Pantai Tengah which is close to where you are staying.

Have they closed any of the beach off Lesley? It was our favourite bolt hole last visit.

All of the beach was being dug up. There were JCB's. pipes, hordings, the majority of the trees were cut down. It was a right old mess in November and can't imagine it has improved any by now.
