Lunar Alvor Village Suites

Last minute panic booking, really fancy Alvor. Usually like to book an apartment which has its own balcony with sunbeds. Cant be bothered with the sunbed dash. However cant find anything to fit .

So any idea what these apts are like location wise and any bars or restaurants enroute to the centre of alvor?

Thanks in advance

Luna Alvor Village is at the back of the village in a quiet area but quite well situated. It will take you ten to 15 minutes to walk to the centre. Enroute there are a couple of restaurants (the Panda is good) and bars but it's close to the centre so you will probably find yourself walking all the way in.

Hi tracyblack2018 , you're in luck . There's a restaurant on the corner directly opposite Camping Alvor which has recently re-opened after being closed for a long time . I'm sorry I can't think of the name but I'm sure one of our regular posters on A F will know . It's rather an imposing building with an impressive stairway up to the entrance and it used to be a piri piri restaurante . In its new guise it specialises in Prato's do Dia , a complete lunch including drinks for nine euros ! Check it out ! Enjoy Alvor .

You will love the hotel we do. Never had a problem with sun bed dash usually enough to go around as many people go out for the day to the beach or into town. Once we were really lucky and the hotel was full with a wedding party for the weekend and they all disappeared during the days so we had most of pool to ourselves. Also they used to have big bean bags on the grass area near to pool to use also. Staff all very good and helpful. You used to be able to use the adjoining hotel facilities Brisamar but not sure if that is still the case however we never felt the need to do this. Hotel usually has a couple of nights entertainment Lizard show, Parrot Show and a singer none really worth staying in for unless you have kids who will love the parrots and lizards but its more an exercise in selling photos. Surrounding area quiet but not too far to walk into town 10-15 minutes leisurely stroll or a cheap taxi. Not many bars near by as mentioned above except Panda but by the time you get there you might as well keep walking into town and a restaurant called Dom Joao next to hotel which is pretty good by all accounts never used it ourselves but heard good things. Bar in hotel is fine for drinks with a nice outside seating area (not the cheapest but also not extortionate like some hotels). I didn't know the other place had reopened (is it the oriental looking building?) always thought it was a shame it was closed. Used to be a bar/pizza restaurant at the campsite Al Capones but that closed a while back. Supermarket very close to hotel which has great selection of drinks to take back to hotel and stock the large fridge. All of the above being said you will probably just walk into town enjoy the bars and restaurants down there and the lack of bars near the hotel will not be a problem. Maybe a taxi back depending on how good a night you have had.

Location and hotel are superb, family stayed a couple of times, probably one of the the best equipped apartments.Walk into town /beach good as down hill. The Village used to run a shuttle bus to town and village which was great and all the staff were excellent Enjoy ALVOR we're hooked on the place back again next week
