Here is the link on how to obtain the bus schedule:

The bus #201 is a direct bus , you can either get to San Salvador to the South Terminal or Occident Terminal. I can ask around for the bus terminal address in Santa Ana.
This is fantastic - thank you so much, Marius! Exactly what I was looking for and could not find.
You seem to know a lot about the bus system in El Salvador so I might try asking you another question. I am looking for a round-trip bus service from Guatemala City to San Salvador. There seem to be a few options, and so far it looks like Tica Bus and Pullmantur may be good choices. However, these two only depart twice a day, and I read that the Melva bus has multiple departures daily. However, I can't find any information on Melva - schedule or terminal locations.
So just wondering from your experience if there is one particular company that you would recommend.
Thanks again!
My pleasure Shrug4 ! I've been traveling to El Salvador for past three years, travelled to Guatemala as well.
That is correct Tica Bus and Pullmantur companies offer round-trip bus service from Guatemala City to San Salvador. Also, there is a shuttle from Antigua Guatemala to Playa El Tunco, El Salvador.
In regards to Melva I could not find any info, either. It is possible that they went out of business.
You might want to check Autobuses El Cóndor accessing the below link.

To be honest I used only colectivo buses (chicken buses) or direct buses within Guatemala and El Salvador.
But I heard that both companies Tica Bus and Pullmantur have good service.

Personally we enjoyed Santa Ana more than San Salvador. The hike itself easily takes up an entire day (with transit), and another 1-2 days in Santa Ana would be ideal.
