I am visiting Kardamena in July, can anyone advise on any boat trips.ive also been told you can get a boat to turkey , has anyone done this ?
There are plenty of boat trips available from Kardamena, you can wander along the harbourfront and book direct with some boats.
Or you can go ot the centre square and walk to the top (By the cashpoint) and you will fid a couple of travel agents, they will have boards outside and numerous different trips and options, if you book a couple of trips you can get an evening / sunset cruise thrown in for free.
We've done the boat trip to Turkey and it was a total waste of time, you end up queuing for ages in the boiling Sun in Turkey at immigration, the whole trip was a waste of time and wouldn't do it again even if it was free.
Aw thanks so much for the info !! :-)
I messaged offshore travel on Facebook for a list and prices of trips available when I’m over in July. They got back to me within a few hours.
The Two travel shops are opposite each other, so the way to get a good deal is to let them see you wandering from one to the other, there is also another agents about 100yards from the main square, if you stand with your back to Bar1960 and walk ahead at the side of the post office, keep walking along the street (It's what used to be known as bar street)
Keep walking past a few bars and shops, past Crossroads bar and keep going, you will eventually come to a bridge, cross over and you will find another travel agent on the right hand side.
If the agents know you want ot book a number of trips, and you let them know you are looking around you are more likely to get a package / free sunset cruise etc.
There are numerous "Three island / multiple island" trips you can do. There is also a trip to Nisyros which is a good trip, you get the boat across (around 45mins) then a coach ride (10 mins) to the inverted volcano, where you can wander down into the crater and experience it, you can hear the magma below the surface.
After this they take you down to the delightful village of mandrake for you to relax / drink / eat / explore etc before getting the ferry back to Kardamena.
