Hong kong airport to macau

My family plan to go macau once we reach hong kong airport, and we have booked Hardrock hotel in macau, below are my qn:

1) Which ferry terminal should we chose that is nearly to our hotel

Macao (Taipa) or

Macao (Maritime Ferry Terminal)?

2) I know we can check-in our luggage, so once we reach macau terminal, how do we collect our luggage?

3) We only stay 1day at Macau then will back to hong kong the next day and we have booked City View hotel, which terminal we should take back and is easy and nearly to the City View hotel at Mong Kok?

4) How do we drop our luggage to the ferry when returning to Hong Kong?

While the Taipa terminal is closer to your hotel, the sailing schedule is very limited from HKIA. Only once a day, at 10:15. If your flight arrival doesn't match it, you will be going to Macau Maritime Ferry Terminal. It is not a big issue. Going to your hotel from there is just as convenient.

When you buy the ticket at the airport, you don't pass through immigration. You hand over your checked in luggage claim tags. The airport workers will retrieve all your checked in bags for you. You will collect your luggage in Macau - after you pass Macau's Immigration.

China Ferry Terminal in Tsim Sha Tsui is closer. Ferry schedule is about one ferry every 30 minutes during most of the day. From there take a short taxi ride to your hotel. Fare is about HKD $30 plus HKD $5 each luggage.

You check in with the ferry company. (Turbojet probably)

Further...

1.) You will find City of Dreams shuttle buses at both terminals. They will take you directly to the City of Dreams facilities. Go up the escalator upon arrive and make a left after seeing the blue screen with the mermaid and jellyfish images. Hard Rock Hotel will be on your left shortly. Its quite easy to find.

>>>3.) which terminal we should take back and is easy <<<<

I also suggest that you use the main Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal in Macau instead of the Taipa based ferry terminal. There are ferries leaving every 15 minutes from the main ferry terminal from 7.30 to 24.00pm. You normally don't need to wait long at all before being able to board and leave.

Turbojet staff will be able to assist/help. Just ask when you are buying your ticket and they will point you in the right direction for the luggage services. Also, when you arrive, after clearing immigration, just look to the left and you'll see the carousels where luggage will arrive shortly.

When you arrive at HKIA and deplane, look for this sign. Its all over the place.

Follow the sign to these counters

hongkongairport.com/pr_img/T1_TransferArea.j…

The ferry counters sell tickets to a number of destinations. Look at the TV on top for Macau and see the time for next sailing.

…blogspot.com/-vXYyFYvHeUQ/TyL4G7nilkI/AAAAA…

If you have checked in luggage you can only pick a sailing time that is more than an hour later as this is the time it takes to retrieve your luggage on your behalf and load it onto the ferry for you. You do not need to clear HKIA immigration and customs.

Queue up and tell the person you want tickets to Macau. Hand him your baggage claim stub. He will replace it with a new stub for you to claim your luggage in Macau. You can select economy class or premier class. Premier class comes with a meal, and sometimes more comfortable seats depending on the boat used. If you have asiamiles card you can also pass it to him to claim 100 asiamile points.

After that, just hang around, have a drink, until 30mins before your scheduled departure.

Then walk to the entry point to Skypier. Its just behind where you purchased the tickets.

You will then proceed down escalators to a train station. The train will bring you to skypier (2 stops I think) and you will get off.

Go up the escalators, See the sign for your boat gate (if turbojet its turn right to the end) and wait for your boat to board.

Once you arrive in Macau, clear immigration.

After immigration, turn right and wait for luggage. May take a while as its a manual process and workers bring the luggage off the boat in torries.
