Can anyone tell me if it is easy by public transport to go from Carcassonne to Gruissan? Thank you.

Gruissan is about 80km or 50 miles from Carcassonne.
1 - bus from airport to Carcassonne railway station. They run in connection with arriving flights.
2 - train from Carcasssone to Narbonne. Irregular trains every 1 - 2 hours
3. local bus Narbonne station to Gruissan - see https://www.citibus.fr/upload/fh_rentree_2017/Citibus-173582-FH08-400x448-WEB.pdf but more buses run in July and August. Note that in winter some afternoon buses only run if pre booked.

I always take a taxi from Narbonne station. €35-50. Very few buses. Are you planning a stay without a car ? That might prove inconvenient.
