1. Re: Eua October

What do you mean 4 days is to short, read below and you'll see what I mean...................

BELOW is ferry timetable with contacts and general

information on what Eua island and the Hideaway has to offer you.

This is a busy time of year for us due to the Great Southern Humpbacks

migrating back home to Tongan waters for there breeding season, from

July to Nov. I have only 8 rooms, my rooms can fill up quite

quickly because where we are located you can just watch them from

right in-front of your accommodation DAILY, we have a cool little

whale watch platform right on the ocean's edge for closer look from

land, they do come quite close to land, Bring your binoculars, if you

have some. For a even closer encounter you can join one or our whale

watching trips by boat with our local fisherman fully licenced small

style whale watch boats ,max 8 seater boats, low impact, low

commercial small boat style for a more personal experience, nice for

the whales and for the watchers.

PLUS all the land activities, there is allot to do and see, if you are

into learning about Tongan culture, Tongan people, outdoors,

environment, exploring, adventure then you have come to the right

place.

ACTIVITIES AND TOURS WE OFFER: All tours include lunch.

- We arrange Traditional Kava drinking with the local people in there own kava

drinking halls where you get a real Tongan cutural

experience with locals and listening to the beautiful local singing

with guitars.

-Learn traditional Tapa cloth making and weaving with the local womens groups.

We arrange coconut leaf weaving and Tongan tapa cloth making with some

local ladies from the village of Tufuvai, this lesson can take up to 2

to 3 hours.

- Church on Sunday from 10 to 11am for the best singing in the world,

a good cultural and spiritual experience. You still have half the day

to explore or just relax.

-Whale watching & swimming with our local fully licenced, low

commercial style whale watch

boats, there max 8 seater boats, low impact, small boat style for a

more personal experience OR just watch the whales from right infront

of your accommodation or our whale watching platform on the waters

edge. July to Nov months.

- If you like fishing, fishing with the local fisherman, style. You

can bring your own rods and tackle if you like. Again, low

commercial, local Tongan style.

TONGAN PEOPLE - CULTURE - TONGAN PEOPLE - CULTURE -

- Slow Beach horse ride. Start ride from here at the Hideaway to

Ufilie beach, swim/snorkel, lunch and ride back.

-Bike riding with a map and info provided of all the sites that you

can visit. Take some lunch and some swim gear and have a swim as well.

-4 DIFFERENT DAY TREKS TO CHOOSE FROM,

No1 Eua Lokupo coastal 'Eua National Park hike. Local Guided with transport

and lunch.

No2 Forest plantaion walk.Un-guided with info, map and transport if you need.

No3 Southern end, Rock garden, Ha'aluma beach walk.Un-guided with

info, map and transport "if needed" OR it is nice on a bike, good bike ride.

There is semi-wild horses, very high rocky spectacular cliffs, the

rock garden formations and Liangahuo a Maui (Natural archway), then

visit beautiful deserted Ha'aluma beach for a cool off swim.

No4 - Fangatave beach and cave trek, This walk is rated the one of the

BEST in the South Pacific. Local Guided with transport and lunch. Basic rock

climbing on a rock face, 8 to 11 caves, Rain forest, spectacular high

cliff top views and a snorkel/swim and a packed lunch on the beach.

-Bird watching, we have a unique parrot that is only found on Eua Is

and no where else in the world. The red shining parrot. 100% I

gaurantee the you will hear this parrot on your outings, so which

means there is a very good chance that you will see it !!! For a rare

bird, population is good.

- A 4WD island trekking/snorkelling tour, this is not your usual drive

around in a car tour, this is quite a physical active tour for a

vehicle tour with short hikes and the roads are actual 4WD roads. See

allot in 1 day. See 'Eua National Park platform lookouts over the

National Park, Huge massive banyan trees, deep spectacular sink holes,

wild horses, snorkelling on Ha'aluma beach, meeting the locals and

seeing how they weave pandanas leaf mats and making traditional Tapa

cloth and best of all, you are accompanied by local guides Joe and
