Bus service to and from Lustica

I am hoping to stay in Lustica Bay. I won't have a car so is there a reliable bus service so that I can go on trips to Kotor and Budva? If not how much would taxis cost approximately. Thank you

When are you going. I ask as we are going to Lustica this week. Booked through booking.com and the owner says there are local buses, so I can confirm it for you later this week.

Last year we stayed in Becici, just south of Budva and the buses were both cheap and frequent. I certainly suspect you would have to go into Kotor to get a bus to Budva though

Rob. Lustica is lovely but to make the most of it you really need a car.

There are only two buses on the peninsula and neither run to Lustica Bay,and both only run to Tivat with neither more than 10 times a day.

The first runs from Tivat to Krasici which is on the Bay side of the peninsula. That turns right about 15 mins walk from the pleasant town of Radovici. There are 7 buses each way, and it doesn't run in the winter. As far as I can gauge this would be a 45 min walk

The first bus towards Tivat is at 640am and the last one back is at 2030.

The second route runs from Tivat to Plavi Horizontal which is also known as the Bay of Przna. My wife and I walked to there today.A right turn up a hill has a sign to Lustica Bay,so this is as far as you could get a bus. We walked up there and there was a sign 'Lustica Bay' sales. The road at the top of the hill turned left and men were building a road. We got as far as the next right hand bend where we could see the sea and gave up walking any further.

WE reached Plavi Horizontal at 510pm (after an hour and a half slow stroll) and it is a lovely sandy beach with a large bar/restaurant. The beach was full of sun loungers and was packed!.

As you know from my original post, we didn't hire a car but managed to get a driver for a day from the place we are staying at. With hindsight this was a mistake. We have had a 25 min walk uphill to the supermarket in Radovici - which isn't a huge problem (the best thing we bought with us was

a strong bag). If you do come Plavi Horizonti is well worth a visit. A beach we went to mast year at the end of the peninsula was called Zanjice (also seems to be called Zanjic) which was idyllic but there are no cabs.

For some reason, the peninsula is split in half. The sea end comes under Hercig Novi Municipality (the no buses municipality!), whilst the land side is Tivat Municipality).

I am here until Monday if you need anymore. I have I haven't put you off. It is fabulous - you just would enjoy it more with wheels

Hi

Thank you so much for your informative reply. It must have taken you a lot of time to gather all this info. and it is much appreciated. We may have to revise our accommodation arrangements to find a place near a bus route and your info. will help our choice immensely.

LOL!. That's fine. Without a car time is a commodity I have in abundance this week.

Lustica is lovely, you just need the car.

I took both of these buses today. To Tivat, probably 9 km, took just under an hour. I think we collected the drivers mum on route and dropped her home. We then went down a small side road which was the width of about 1 and a half cars. I thought 'that's it. He has had enough of his job. He is going to ditch the bus in undergrowth', wgen suddenly we found 4 old ladies in the middle of nowhere and picked them up in our cosy and fairly full 15 seater! It was comical.

The bus back was to Plavi Horizontal and was more direct. Both trips 2 euros each.

Lustica Bay is apparently a sandy beach with a bar, but is a couple of kilometres further on from where we turned around yesterday

Hi,

I'm going to Lustica Bay, Tivat (staying at The Chedi) in September and so, was interested in this thread about transport.

Bottom line, have just spoken to the hotel and they confirmed, there is (started earlier this year 2019), a regular bus service in to Tivat - the blue line.
