The flight was on time both ways , the plane was not new but clean , the crew was nice and helpful . I reserved the first row , so I had plenty on leg room.

Our flight from Baku was scheduled for 23.30h on October 10.2018.
Nothing was organized. There was no organized line because nobody bothered to use rope barriers.
People were shouting at the staff who lost control. The security check was terrible. Each passenger had to take his luggage to a room and open it for control. There were hundreds of passengers but only 4 people at the security
We arrived to the Airport 20.30 h and checked in at 10.30 h . Two hours !!!
New Airplane, pleasant flight attendant, and most important maintaining an accurate schedule.
I recommend highly this flight.
Israir used to be a charter airline, but as I understand it, is no longer considered one. It's also not a typical "low-cost" airline, although it is a cheap, no-frills one. They fly mainly within Israel, but also to a few international destinations -- for those flights, tickets are reasonably priced. The flight itself was nothing to write home about, but not bad, pretty much average (which, these days, considering what you get on most more expensive flights, is actually pretty good). Our flight included baggage, but no in-flight meal -- food was available, but at an extra cost (and frankly, it didn't look great, so we just brought along our own). Service was acceptable. All in all, while I can't give them the highest rating, I would fly with them again.
My 3 star rating is based mostly on previous, better, experience on board Israir aircraft. If I have to rate this flight I would give in no more than 1 star.
This flight was on board a leased Smartwings brand new Boeing 737 Max 8. The plane looked new, but the seating was very uncomfortable. This was a short 2:30 hours flight, but it is used also much longer lined like Tel Aviv-Lisbon or Tel Aviv - Tenerife. I do not envy passengers sitting 6-8 hours in these very crowded aircraft .
As expected, there was no in flight entertainment, but I could not find the promised USB connector, and the seat pocket was too small to put even mu 10"computer.
Check in was old fashioned - at the counter. No web or even kiosk check in. Several were split in different rows - I and my wife moved to different rows in order to let two young children (6-8 years old) to sit with their father.
