“Awesome airline”
Review of Safarilink

Reviewed 9 January 2018

Awesome airline to use for your internal safari plans. Their service was punctual, clear communication via email, had water for customers and the pilots were helpful with bags and also provided information on upcoming airstrip stops. We had a flight scheduled from Nanyuki airstrip to Olare Orok airstrip, but Nanyuki airstrip was closed for renovations. Safarilink team emailed me informing me of this change, and also offered to pick me up for transfer to the new airstrip.

We bought the tickets with this company because they offered the best flight times for us.

After 5 days of safari, our guide left us in their offices in Wilson Airport and we get surprised because is exclusive for Safarilink clients, they have free wifi and good restaurant inside where you can spend hours waiting safely.

Moreover, our lugagge was heavier than the limit and they allowed us to left 1 bag with them for free.

The travel was Ok, they give you free snack and beverage inside.

Dont expect to much with the airplanes.

For our trip to the Mara North Conservancy we were dropped off by our agent at Wilson Airport Nairobi. Flying is a much better option now than when we first came to Kenya 20 years ago, when we were driven to the Masai Mara. The check-in at the airport was efficient, quick and the staff very friendly and helpful. The baggage allowance is 15kg per person which includes hand luggage and this is strictly adhered to. The lady booking-in at the same time as us was most upset that she could not take 25kg and also both her cases were hard ones, which again caused a problem with trying to load them on the aircraft. Do people not read the booking instructions? There are facilities at the airport to store any excess luggage but they are probably chargeable. In the waiting area at Wilson airport there is a small café serving drinks and food at reasonable prices. Our flight left on time and stopped at one airfield prior to Mara North taking about 1 hour for the trip. The plane to Mara North was a 13 seater Cessna, leg room and comfort are not high on the priority list with these aircraft, but they are a very efficient way to travel in Kenya.
Later on in our holiday we used Safarilink again for a flight from Ukunda airport Diani Beach to Nairobi. On this occasion we were on a Dash 8 which had 1 air hostess who served a small snack. The aircraft was comfortable and although it left Ukunda 90 minutes late the flight was then direct (where normally it stopped on route) to Nairobi arriving only 20 minutes late.
