What the heck is wrong with Celebrity and its app or website. So many problems. Worse is I booked my excursion months ahead. They charged my card and it appears on the app initially. Then it disappeared. But it has reassuring message about "don't see your booking here? Don't worry it is still there" So I felt reassuerd. But I thought I'd check in couple of weeks before the cruise and was told it failed and it was not booked. I asked how come my card was charged. After checking they admitted charges were made and was not refunded due to error in refunding. But they will refund and I have to rebook and pay before I get my refund. So all my preferences are now booked up and what's left are much more expensive excursion I have no interest in. Turning up to be the worse cruise ever. And I thought Celebrity was supposed to be level above most cruise line. Really disappointed. If they can't get website and App right makes me concern about other things.

9 Night Spain, Portugal, Tangiers cruise roundtrip from Barcelona August 27, 2024. Concierge Class cabin 1132. Of the 4 shore excursion tours we booked with Celebrity, 2 did not meet our expectations. None of the 4 ship tours compared favorably with the 3 private tours we booked separately, in terms of itinerary or value. We paid double the normal rate for a Small Group tour with Celebrity that had 30 people on the bus, and not enough "drinks & appetizers" to feed us all. Every other "small group" tour that I have booked in the past has been a maximum of 10 people. If I wanted to stand in lineups, I would have booked the "regular" tour. Also disappointed with the stops we made on the tours in Porto and Tangiers. This is our 4th trip with Celebrity, and we usually have no complaints. Food, cabin, entertainment are all top-notch. However, cabin noise from the suite above us until after midnight prevented us from sleeping, and Guest Relations did nothing to address our noise complaint.

We chose this cruise whilst on board celebrity silhouette last year, big mistake!! Celebrity were not interested when trying to book our flights, this turned into a bit of a nightmare, with there flights being to expensive through them or go independently. We had to change the date we planned to travel & to an airport which was difficult for us to get to. We will certainly not be booking another cruise whilst on board through Celebrity and also think twice about booking flights through them. This was our third time on this ship and 14th sailing with celebrity. The ship in the main was ok, although showing signs of her age, however what spoilt it for us was even from last year the service levels have dropped and the only interest was up selling. We had purchased the classic drinks package, we have noticed celebrity have moved quite a lot of choice out this package and overall put drink prices high, as we are not too bigger drinkers it was not too much of an impact. Another issue we had with the ship, was it had atmosphere of a party ship with loud music playing all around the ship throughout the day, although we do like live music it was at a level of that the sound seemed to be higher than on other cruises we had been on. Being on a Greek island cruise in July as expected the weather was very hot. But returning from the outside back into the ship was like walking into a fridge and far from comfortable on an evening needed an extra layer of clothing which prevented us from frequenting the sky bar due to it being very cold, which on our other cruise’s would be the bar we ended up in. The food in the main restaurant was on the whole good, however the service level had dropped a bit. We frequented Muranos and Tuscan grill twice ( we had already be in Le Petit Chef on previous cruises therefore we thought we’d give it a miss) Murano’s has been our favourite restaurant on all our previous cruises and we intended to go twice, we was disappointed by the the poor service, although the food was good the level of service spoilt it for us. Tuscan grill, we found this very good for both food and service, therefore we decided to go twice. Oceanview was a disappointment especially on sea days struggled to get a seat & the food was below par. The itinerary was why we picked the cruise, what we cannot account for was how busy each port was especially Athens, Mykonos and Santorini were very very busy, too busy to do any sight seeing (over an 1 hour waiting for the cable car in Santorini) too many ships in at once. The best we could give this cruise would be 3 stars certainly not worth the money, we have another cruise booked on the Apex in October just hope this is a better experience otherwise we will be looking too book another cruise line as our mainstay.

This review of my July 30th sailing out of Barcelona on the Equinox (booked 3 cabins) would normally be a 4 star review. I will explain in a minute why I lowered my score. There were a lot of positives about this cruise. The ship has been refurbished and we felt it was very nice and clean. All of the staff was fantastic. Very friendly and warm. Our cabin steward was the best we have had on any of our cruises. Our waiter and assistant waiter were excellent. The entertainment was very good (wish they would have scheduled the magic show for a night we were not spending in port). The ocean view cafe’s food was very good with a great variety of selections. Sushi on 5 had excellent food. Loved the coffee bar. We all had massages which were excellent. We only did 1 excursion through the ship and that was in Morocco. Excellent tour guide. After getting home from the cruise I wanted to discuss some issues we had onboard with Celebrity’s customer relations department. In the end, I did not agree with how they handled the situation and this is why the rating of 2. By the way, this was our 15th cruise and this is the first time that I can remember that I called a customer relations department afterwards. The first subject I spoke about was in regards to the main Silhouette dining room. We felt the choices were lacking and the food was average. The salads were not very appetizing specifically the Caesar- the plates were hot (straight out of the dishwasher) and the lettuce and the dressing were both warm/watery. I found that to be the case with other salads as well. The steak offered daily had little flavor, however, the salmon was delicious. The lobster tails were plain and lacking in excitement. The deserts were also very average.. My first main criticism has to do with the basic wi-fi package. The only thing consistent with the wi-fi was it’s inconsistency. For what we paid daily, it should have worked more often than not. I spent a lot of time at the internet desk (usually a line) trying to get it fixed. The last thing I want to do on a cruise is wait in that sort of line. I told customer relations about this expecting them to do something for me. However, after talking to a couple of different people (one called me from the executive office) I was told there was nothing they could do about it. The only refunds that can be made are by Guest Relations on the ship. (I never had an issue like this before). This person is in the executive office and should be able to make a decisions on this. I believe the internet help desk people should have suggested going to guest relations. My other criticism has to do with a non-alcoholic drink package. I’ll start by saying technically Celebrity is correct on this. There is fine print buried somewhere in the cruise agreement. One of our cabins had the drink package purchased when we booked the cruise. The 2nd cabin pre-purchased the drink package about 4 months prior to sailing. The 3rd cabin waited until onboard the ship. The non-alcoholic drink package for the 2nd cabin (have a copy of what we purchased from Celebrity’s website) shows $26.99 per day per guest. The regular price of $30.00 per day is scratched out but shows “onboard” meaning to me if we prepay it is $26.99 per day but if we wait until on the ship it is $30.00 per day. As I said, we waited until onboard to purchase for the 3rd cabin. It was not until I received the final bill that I noticed that we were paying $45.00 per day per person. To make a long story short, their answer was they have the right to change the price anytime they want. My argument was that there should have been a notation next to the $30.00 that said “subject to change at anytime.” They will take my suggestion into account but it states this fact in the fine print. Seems a little deceiving to me but I will not see any refund. As I said, we enjoyed the cruise immensely but it was dealing with customer relations afterwards that caused my rating to go down. Will we sail Celebrity again or refer it to friends? Still trying to decide.

Never again!! The friendly staff made the cruise. They could not do enough for you. Having said that, the food was mediocre. The main dining room menu can use more versatility. The Oceanview Cafe was very unpleasant. It was difficult to get a seat, passengers were rude, and the food was average. The pizza was probably the best food there. We dined at 2 specialty restaurants. Stay away from the Sushi Restaurant. The food was horrible and unappetizing. The other restaurant we tried was the Tuscan Grille. Again nothing to warrant great marks. The calamari was delicious. The chicken parm was average, eggplant appetizer was disappointing because the eggplant was hard and under cooked. The cacio d Pepe was dry and unappealing. It was the thick spaghetti paste sprinkled with cheese. Our cabin was very outdated and the chairs on the veranda were worn out and dirty. We only saw our cabin steward twice a day if that at all. We requested fresh towels one afternoon and were told NO we can’t get them until the room is serviced in the evening. Only when we complained to housekeeping did we get a friendlier demeaner from him. The excursions in Portugal and Morocco was disappointing. We purchased the Alcohol package pre trip. When we got on the ship we were told that this package did not include premium liquors snd unless we opted to pay an extra 160.00 per person we could not enjoy martinis unless we paid extra. The WiFi was awful. It kept going in and out. So frustrating. Could not wait to get home!! This was a disappointing cruise. Never again!!
