This was our 2nd cruise on Marella Discovery 2 (previously in 2019). We travelled as 2 couples aged 35-40 during the October half term.

We loved our cruise and wish we could have stayed for another week.

To get it out of the way, there are some minor improvements that could be made in certain areas but the main things we noticed were:

• the length of time to sometimes wait for drinks at the bars
• the capacity in the main restaurant 47 and Gallery 47 - there seemed to be less staff than would be optimal meaning that all the tables in the restaurant couldn’t be used, if more staff were brought on the capacity could be increased and that would mean more guests could be seated in there, as you can’t book sometimes guests were being turned away when it got too full

However the above didn’t bother us as we just worked around them and there were so many more positives than negatives, including:

• the staff - everyone we encountered wanted to provide excellent service and they did, particularly Khushan in the bars and Andre in room attendant crew
• the entertainers - Saphy was amazing on the piano with a great voice and Dem Boyz were just so lively and fun, if you don’t smile when watching them then I don’t think you want to have a good time
• the food - we had good breakfasts in Islands every day with brilliant omelettes and cooked breakfasts; Snack Shack was great for mid afternoon snacks when getting back on the boat, as was Islands with afternoon tea style food; the main restaurants, 47, gallery 47 and glass house all had good varied menus; Kora La and Surf & Turf (extra cost) were both outstanding and were definitely worth paying extra for
• the drinks - we upgraded to the premium AI as we drink quite a lot so knew it would be worth it, we tried nearly all the drinks on the menu (cocktails, beers, wines, coffees, milkshakes) and obviously you have your favourites but we were generally happy with all the drinks we had and the speed we got them in
• the bars - we spent time in all the bars and enjoyed them all, live room was probably our favourite with Saphy and Dem Boyz often on in there, then late night partying in Bar 11 until 2am, we also liked Squid & Anchor for some cheesy fun game shows etc, the deck bar to chill on a late afternoon, the atrium bar was pre dinner drinks and the show lounge for the main shows
• excursions - we did a vineyard tour and Nou Camp tour through Tui that were both as expected and we thought good value for money (we did our own excursions / tourism on the other days)
• flight / transfers - from getting off the plane to getting to the boat, boarding and then the same coming home, everything was planned and organised very well by Tui

We’d love to go back next year but might have to wait until 2024.

We had a fantastic time on board the Discovery. We had read some really bad reviews and were a little apprehensive. We had a brilliant time and all of the staff on board work very hard. Eddie and his team looked after our cabin and always had a quick chat with you and big smile. Food and Entertainment was excellent. Thank you :)

Will never use TUI again cancelled my once in a life time cruise 48 hours before departure!! Very unsympathetic thought a full refund was acceptable didn’t care about the heart ache that was created and no offer of compensation!!!

Group of 8 friends spent 2 weeks on Discovery on a Caribbean cruise, absolutely fantastic. Staff were so hard working and could not do enough for us. Balcony cabin on deck 6 was fabulous and cleaned 3 times daily, towels changed daily. Food delicious in both self serve and waiter service restaurants. Entertainment was spot on, We thoroughly enjoyed our time on this ship. We had no problem getting sunbeds apart from at sea days ( 2 in 2 weeks) when ship is full so everyone up extra early to secure beds. We were a little worried having read some negative reviews prior to our trip however thankfully our experience was nothing but positive and thoroughly enjoyable.

Went on the Discovery Marella Caribbean Cruise over Christmas and we had the best time. The staff were amazing, cant put into words. We had an adjoining balcony cabin as we have kids. We were on Deck 6 and the cabins were a good size with lots of storage space. The balcony was roomy with table and chairs. Was lovely sitting out there each morning as we docked into the next country. The ship itself was overall very clean and maintained well. The dining experience, cant complain. We did the buffet and restaurants and the food was always very good.

Done many cruises and this was first time with TUI, I had read some negative reviews but that is the norm on everything, like to find out for myself. We chose this ship because of the itinerary and a minimum of sea days. We was slightly late on landing in Bridgetown but the disembarkation from the plane to embarking the ship was very efficient indeed. Had a junior suite which was brilliant, big, spacious with plenty of storage, well pleased with the cabin. On the first night it was the usual exploring the ship & getting bearings, which on this ship is easy. The service we received in all restaurants & bars was impeccable with no complaints what so ever. We was waited on hand & foot, didn't have to wait long for anything. I did hear a lot of people moaning about food & other service of which we found nothing to moan about. Hats off to TUI for an amazing 2 weeks.
