I am writing to express my profound disappointment with ITA Airways following a disastrous travel experience.
I booked a business class ticket from Miami to Rome, anticipating an elite travel experience. However, chaos ensued from the moment I arrived at the airport. To my shock, I discovered that my ticket had been canceled because my dad and I share the same name—despite our different birthdates! After an agonizing hour of back and forth with the utterly incompetent staff, we were fortunate enough to secure one remaining business class seat, but it felt like a hollow victory.
At the gate, I learned that one of our so-called “business class” seats didn’t even lie flat—completely undermining the purpose of paying for an upgrade. Upon arriving in Rome, my nightmare continued when I discovered that my return ticket had been canceled without any notification. With no business class options available, I was forced to endure an economy flight back, which is unacceptable after paying for a premium service.
Now, I find myself in a relentless battle for a refund. ITA Airways has been unresponsive and dismissive throughout this process, treating me as if I am invisible. I contacted ITA, only to be directed to Expedia, who confirmed that ITA is refusing to approve my refund.
This entire ordeal has been emotionally and financially draining. If you value your time, money, and sanity, I strongly advise against choosing ITA Airways.
