Flight out of Tampa was delayed 2 hours and 40 minutes. Kudos to the gate agent who moved me to the front of the plane so I could disembark to catch my next flight from Philadelphia to Bangor. Things were looking up to catch my 2nd leg when we landed fifteen minutes earlier than initially predicted after our late departure. This was all for nought when we were not able to get to our gate. Had to go from concourse "C" to concourse "E". There is a shuttle bus no bus or staff was present. Decided to walk it and arrived just prior to gate closure. We the sat on the tarmac for another 45 minutes waiting for the flight deck crew to arrive.

I usually have ok luck with American but last year my flight was canceled from Philadelphia to Athens due to plane maintenance. I understand that this is a serious matter and for our safety but I was not ok with the lack of communication from the airline about what was happening and the constant delays, promises we would leave out that night, then a cancellation with no help in finding a hotel and rebooking a lot of us. If it were not for me traveling with a friend who quickly jumped on the phone to get us rebooked for the next day and myself calling around to hotels to get a room, I would have been traumatized.

I have nothing but good things to say about our 10.5 hours flight from Rome to Dallas. The staff of American at Fiumicino Airport were outstanding. They directed tired travelers through the process: Getting boarding passes and luggage tags, and checking the bags in. On board, the entertainment was top notch. Seats are not that great on the Boeing 777, but that's normal for all planes when you're on a plane for over 10 hours. The food was disappointing, especially knowing that the food was made in Rome. The flight attendants were excellent, drinks and food were provided at a fast pace (really tough to do, but they did it). I'm a big fan of American Airlines, and look forward to traveling with them more in the near future.

Horrible, delayed our flight 4 times at the gate before cancelling and telling us the next available flight was in 2 days. Because we had to cut our vacation short by 2 days we no longer needed to check luggage but amazingly our luggage had made it to our destination so American suggested we come back to claim them later that night. Fun 45 minute drive that was. Charged us "upgrade" fees to reschedule and on the trip had no overhead space in said upgraded seats because the flight attendant was using it. She was also extremely rude in every way.

Also never received the $60 that American charged us for our checked bags even though we no longer needed to check them and had to drive back at midnight retrieve.

Don't book with American if you need to be somewhere, unfortunately they don't seem to care about the impact to us and our plans. We've flown them in the past out of Philly, won't make that mistake again.

My flight was to leave at 10:30 am. They announced we had mechanical difficulties and required anew plane the plane arrived at 1pm. But no pilots. Pool era arrived at 4 pm. We arrived at Dallas around 9 pm but had to sit on the plane for 3 hours before we were allowed to debark off the plane. I got my luggage after midnight. Then instead of flying out the next day my return flight was two days later! I called and asked for a refund and they refused saying it was weather. I pointed out that I watched the weather at Dallas and they didn’t have bad weather they then said since I received a return flight they didn’t have to refund my money or compensate me in any way! Not only that after this prolonged nightmare in which my legs swelled 3 x their size the only AA person to apologize was the pilot! In fact the receptionist named Jezman yelled at us several times! I will never fly them again
