“Not a fantastic experience”
Review of Fiji Airways

Was supposed to fly from Taveuni in Los Angeles mid August 2017. Our flight out of Taveuni was cancelled due to motor problems. The same flight was also cancelled the day before! They claimed we would get out by 6PM. As the airport has no lighting there is no way for a place to take off in the dark from an airport with no radar/dario guidance. We got out the next day to Nadi and had to stay 14 hours between flights. Fiji Airways downgraded me from Business to Coach. They refused me access to the business lounge and ended up putting me in a seat that could not recline. Fiji Airways contacted me and said they would do anything to make my flight as comfortable as possible and in return they gave me one of the worst flights ever. As a multi-million miler traveller they rank as one of the worst experiences ever.

Recommend highly as way to go - well looked after - friendly crew with well maintained aircraft..

Be very aware if you get the Fijian Airline flight from Vava'u to Fiji they will frequently off load your bags because of mismanagement. They could not care less about the disruption they cause to your ongoing plans and the costs incurred to yourself. They promised someone would be at the airport in Nadi to discuss the situation but that was a blatant lie. I myself noticed our bags being off loaded but for the others who didn't they were left waiting at the baggage carousole for non existent bags. Lost baggage staff had no knowledge of the bags being left behind. Service was the worst possible!
Could go on but whats the point.

Bought QF ticket but obviously code-shared with Fiji Airways. We thought the brown seats on the Fiji Airways aircraft were quite tired looking . On our flight the staff although chipper enough, looked harried. Breakfast was truly dreadful. A tub of cheap SKI yoghurt , an apple cinnamon muffin that was dry & tasteless and looked like it had been frozen and thawed, a stiff tasteless omelette with a few potatoes and some slices of what seemed to be chicken sausage. Then they took absolute ages to take everyones plates away. Just as bad on the trip back on QF344 a week later - with the same breakfast except no SKI yoghurt (thankfully), the eggs were scambled this time, and they missed the chicken sausage out of my plate totally. Not impressed.

Great service and at a reasonable price given that it is a code share with QF. The Row 1 seats do not have a huge amount of room in front and I would recommend going for row 2 if possible.

The business class lounge in Nadi is undergoing renovations and they have a temporary lounge. cramped and not a pleasant experience. Given the time of the Nadi- Brisbane flight the whole lounge was full of very loud and noisey Americans (Nadi -LAX) who were literally shouting at each other across the room. This is supposed to be a business class lounge but there had to be over 50 people for two flights that had less than 20 business class seats. Not a very exclusive or relaxing experience. Would make me think twice about booking with Fiji Airways in the future. I travel business class for a reason and it is not to be surrounded by a bunch of rowdy backpacking tourists.
