“Decent budget airline”
Review of Skymark Airlines

Reviewed 16 April 2016

Skymark offers a decent quality budget airline service in Japan. The flight was uneventful, but the service had a air of high quality, quite common in Japan. You can get decent prices if you forego the chance to edit your flight times and such. Had to call their helpline to fix a typo in the order, they were very friendly, but helpline service was only offered in Japanese.

Very easy. Digital check in, no hassles. Super-friendly staff. Paid drink service only, no movies, TV's, or monitors to distract the kids with, plus announcements were made in Japanese language only (I can understand and my wife is Japanese so no problems for us) so if you think you will need assistance in another language, think twice.

The flights were smooth and there were no delays, so there were no unnecessary and bothersome announcements from the cockpit.

I am a 6' heavy-set American, and this flight was very comfortable with plenty of legroom and comfort. I slept very well, which I usually don't do!

I will definitely use this airline again for domestic flights and would recommend this airline to my friends for domestic flights. For international flights though, Osaka Kansai Airport is a really easy international transfer hub so consider that when planning your next trip.

I think it has to be the best low cost airline, if not simply the best airline in the world!

I flew with them only once so I may have go lucky, flying between Tokyo and Sapporo, but the place had features I never seen before.

First, ALL the seats were Business type, meaning large with huge room for your legs, like a business seat of ANA (used them once for the same Tokyo - Sapporo).

That was already pretty cool itself but then you fast realized the place had full free WIFI, wth!

And this for about USD 150 go and back!

Once again it seemed to good to be true so I don't know if you can expect the same on every of their planes but this was for me the best airline experience ever!

I flew this stretch now 4 times, go and back, with them and once with ANA and the difference is day and night, of course, there is no point in talking about service since there is no service on Skymark. But, as far as I know, it is against all international or domestic safety regulations that all cabin announcements are ONLY in japanese, at least the safety announcements should be also in English or another international language. Even for non IATA carriers. And on none of the 4 flights did the cockpit crew say anything, not very hospitable, to say the least.
The planes itself are ok, the flights take you from your point of departure to your destination and if that is all you want out of travel, well, I guess it is ok.
For me, no more, I will fly out of Osaka international airport with a real airline or return with the only ANA flights very early morning or late evening.
the word airBUS got new meaning with skymark
