“Assisted Passengers Are Being Short Changed”
Review of United Airlines

Reviewed 26 June 2019

Being one that needs wheelchair assittance, brought forward a new insight for all of us that need help. Obviously, the airline industry and in most cases airport support personnel have let true assistance fall to a new low level. First, fulfilling designated assistance is almost become non-existant. Having no personel to move us about has gotten terrible and waiting for an initial wheelchair person to appear in reasonable time is becoming almost to the point of missing flights from lack of personnel and chairs! . Being met at the arrival door is not occuring faithfully and more hit and miss! Rolling one from the arrival door to the terminal gate and being dumped for local airport support is becoming common and then no one shows up to take over from there. Waiting lines for wheelchair assist is quite the norm and no one in charge of oversight or lack of service. Neither providing wheelchair assist at check in at Bangor or upon arrival did not have any assiist even when noted on the United system for such. Common response "you have to ask"! Why designate the system information or provide the service if nothng is read and acted upon.

I have now flown with United twice. In both instances, the factor that ruined the experience was the rude gate agent. In the case of this visit, it was watching gate agent, Brian, berate a costumer from arriving late for standby when she had just deplaned a late flight also from United...followed by the same agent bumping another customer off of standby and giving their seat to a pilot who just randomly showed and was working to manipulate the system with the gate agents because he was actually supposed to take a later flight....followed by the gate agent telling a customer of color that he couldn’t give her a seat on the plane unless she upgraded to first class after presumably given her seat up to the off duty pilot.

Meanwhile, the flight which was already an hour over schedule in landing was bumpy and had two attendants who have found the bare minimum of what one might call friendly service.

Basically, I would love to go back in time and tel my wife that we needed to spend the extra to not fly United.

We book our flight on United to Bonaire, This was our first time in Bonaire and was very happy with the flight. The flight over was very smooth and the crew was nice. I did not have any complaints with the flight.

The flight attendants are extremely rude. I approached one of them to ask a question about my luggage and she started yelling at me. She even went as far as threatening me to change my flight if I didn’t pay 55.00 dollar for my small bag. She got so heated up and I felt harassed with her behavior. Never flying United again

Fly to Frankfurt on Lufthansa and then on the United flight. On the way over to Portugal we fly on a Lufthansa Airbus which had fairly good seats although not much room. This Boeing 777-200 had a little more room but the seats were very hard and uncomfortable .
