Being one that needs wheelchair assittance, brought forward a new insight for all of us that need help. Obviously, the airline industry and in most cases airport support personnel have let true assistance fall to a new low level. First, fulfilling designated assistance is almost become non-existant. Having no personel to move us about has gotten terrible and waiting for an initial wheelchair person to appear in reasonable time is becoming almost to the point of missing flights from lack of personnel and chairs! . Being met at the arrival door is not occuring faithfully and more hit and miss! Rolling one from the arrival door to the terminal gate and being dumped for local airport support is becoming common and then no one shows up to take over from there. Waiting lines for wheelchair assist is quite the norm and no one in charge of oversight or lack of service. Neither providing wheelchair assist at check in at Bangor or upon arrival did not have any assiist even when noted on the United system for such. Common response "you have to ask"! Why designate the system information or provide the service if nothng is read and acted upon.
