Staff were excellent and food choice ok ( appreciate its a night flight). The only issue I has was being bussed from the terminal exit to the plane, it makes a bit of a mockery of the extra paid for premium.

We have travelled to America several times on Virgin Atlantic and as always the cabin crew were excellent, check in and boarding went very smoothly, the food on board was very good quality and the seats were excellent. I cannot fault Virgin Atlantic on this flight to and from Los Angeles.
A great experience from start to finish. From entering the plane to disembarking, a great service all round. Proper genuine smiles and attentiveness. Our first time flying with Virgin Atlantic , but not our last. Really made a great start to our holiday.
248 seats 4 loos
We often joke about what airlines are going to find to charge us for next. Well Virgin might be onto something with heating and toilets. With approx 248 passengers and only 4 toilets that customary comfort break after mealtime becomes chaos. Unusually with no toilets at all at the rear of the plane when there is a trolley blocking the aisle that's quite a challenge and only adding to the chaos.
Maybe it's a badly designed aircraft but Virgin bought it like this !
Having left a glorious British summer on a daytime flight en route to the even warmer Caribbean it was something of a shock to be plunged into what felt like a fridge. My teenage son who always travels well said this was the 1st time he had been uncomfortable on a plane. He realised it was due to being hunched up trying to keep warm. Understandably very few passengers came prepared with winter clothing so we have the bizarre sight of many holding blankets tight around themselves.
It might be tricky finding some cold weather clothing to buy in Barbados but definitely a consideration for the return flight.
As we left the plane it seemed a normal temperature in Upper Class. So maybe this was a fault and not just a huge error of judgement by the head steward.
To only get one meal on an 8 hour plus daytime flight also seemed odd. Ok so there were a couple of snacks but we were certainly hungry when we landed in Bridgetown.
Otherwise usually high standards from Virgin staff despite the challenges above.
We have flown with virgin a number of times to the USA and have been satisfied with the flight each time. We were on the plan for around 11 hours going and 9 hours coming back and both sets of staff were caring, kind, professional and ensured our flight was as good as it could be in economy. The entertainment package on board is excellent, usually a good topic of conversation with the kids before we get on the plane and the food is good. Would highly recommend.
