“Attentive professionals. Impressive first time flight.”
Review of Virgin Atlantic Airways

Reviewed 26 July 2019

Seating was quick and the seating comfortable. The plane was clean and maintained. The airline agents were consistently present without being overbearing. The meal was okay and the entertainment available varied and clear. I would fly this airline again.

We travelled recently on Virgin Atlantic Upper Class from Hong Kong to London Heathrow, but never again. Very confined space, nowhere to even put a book. No proper armrests. Headphones that did not cut out engine noise, unable to watch a movie or listen to music. From the start there was only one toilet operating for 30 Upper Class passengers, and the crew were allowing Premium Economy passengers to use this. Bed uncomfortable with pillow resting on metal air vent. The only good part was access to the Virgin Atlantic lounge at Heathroe prior to the return flight. If you're thinking of flying with Virgin Atlantic - DON'T.

We recently got married and were due to fly out on Monday 22 July but unfortunately my wife was unable to travel due to ill health. 6 days before we were due to travel, Virgin bent over backwards to help move our honeymoon to a later date. We can’t thank the staff at Bluewater and the management enough for their help and empathy in understanding our situation at such short notice. Thank you

Had one of the worst experiences ever with Virgin "Upper Class". My wife and our four young children were returning on holiday from New York, We boarded the aircraft, but the pilot said he was experiencing difficulties starting the engine. After nearly three hours sat on a plane with no power and no aircon where the temperature was unbearable, we were advised by one of the crew to get off and book onto a later flight, as there were plenty of seats.

What actually happened is that the later flights were all full, and so we were booked onto a Delta flight instead. This in turn was then delayed, until the following day. The Virgin staff at the airport refused point blank to try and help us book onto another flight returning to London, such as BA etc. To add insult to injury, the original plane then got away, albeit 5 hours late, while we finally got in to a disgusting hotel at midnight, for a terrible night before having to get up at 5am for a rebooked flight. The lack of willingness of the Virgin staff at JFK to help is what really stood out. We won't be flying with them again.

Flew with Virgin Atlantic in early July from Manchester. To be fair check in at the desk was efficient and quick - no problems and the flight departed on time. I was a bit disappointed with the choice of the in-flight entertainment and to be honest the food was pretty average. Free drinks were served throughout the flight - but this seemed really slow - gut I accept that the flight was busy.
Comfort of the seat wasn't fantastic - it was a bit cramped but I did like the fact that it was only a set of 2 on the aisle seats and not the usual 3 in a row.
All in all it was ok - but Virgin have some way to go until they can compare more favourably with some of the much better airlines.
