We were on our way from Penang to Mulu Caves and decided to make a one night stopover in Miri before continuing our journey. We caught the very early morning flight to KL and the connecting flight to Miri. It was a pleasant experience all the way with no delays. Yes I like AirAsia

This is flying on a shoestring! Even though the fare is low, I feel there is NO excuse for the way things are done on the flights.
Namely,...no entertainment, no food or drinks UNLESS u pay for them and the prices are on the high side.
You must PAY if you want to choose where you sit. On Domestic flights, you must PAY for luggage. Now who goes on a trip with no luggage?
Then, the seats are very small, and no legroom.
IF you're feeling cold or want to sleep,...you must PAY for a blanket AND PAY for a pillow!

No Gluten Free food on international flights! Overall Food is very very bad!
We booked AIr Asia throughout for our trip to Malaysia & Thailand. We had purchased their Value Pack (including flight insurance). Before booking we confirmed with the airline that they will be able to serve our gluten free daughter. However on the 5 flights - they point blank said they do not carry gluten free food. The regular food also was so bad - we had to return them uneaten. We asked for partial refund of the value pack - Air Asia refused.

We flew with AirAsia for the first time and quite sure will not fly with them anymore. It is a low-cost airline, we know, but there should have been clear instruction where to do what at the airport. Baggage drop-off was a disaster, and on top of that, our flight started with a very poor toilet condition. If I wasn't bursting, I would not have used it (I went there during boarding time where the toilet should have been sparkling clean).
I understand its need to keep the flight under schedule, but their toilet was even worse than a public toilet in a wet traditional market -- no cleaning was done right after the plane reached. It was smelly, dirty and wet with tissue everywhere on the floor and sink. Totally unacceptable! I was wondering the state of the food their provided in the galley right next to that toilet and one good thing was that we didn't order any food for that 2.5 hours flight. Horrifying to imagine what sort of bug my children would have got!

Online booking was easy and convenient. The most i like was you can add-on (meals, luggage, seat, etc) anytime you like before the flight. It's super good n convenient for budget traveler. The process of check-in and boarding goes smoothly. Services by the crew was good too.
