Description: The vineyards that bear the fruit of Idiom are called “Da Capo” which means “from the beginning” or “from the Cape” in Italian, a reference to the fact that the vineyards were carefully laid out and planted on the farm for the first time in 1999.We Opened the Idiom Tasting Centre in 2016. We offer a beautiful Lunch venue with Spectacular views accompanied by great food and word class wines. We also offer various wine tasting options.

I have no idea why we never went for lunch here, as we live so close by but well, there's always a first time and I was definitely not disappointed.
Great food, service could in all fairness be a little bit more attentive (we were a large table of 12) but otherwise all good.
The menu is not big, but yet there's choice enough for everyone and everything is fresh.

Had an absolutely wonderful time at the festival, the master classes were wonderful. But the food severed wasn't enough, or available long enough to account for the people in the master classes. There was also not enough seating to support even half of those attending.

We had booked lunch and wound our way up through the vineyards from the main road to be met with the most stunningly designed building.
A couple of HUGE pizzas and a bottle of wine, a beer and water was just right for us....all enjoyed whilst taking in the stunning views out to sea.
Very pleasant way to eat real wood-fired pizzas at a reasonable price.
PS They even do "take-away boxes" if you can't finish your pizzas!

Three of us had supper at Idiom after hearing about the reputation of the restaurant. The panoramic view over False Bay as far as Table mountain is spectacular. The food is pricey by South African standards, but the presentation good. One of us took the salad of exotic mushrooms, the other chicken liver risotto as first courses. We were disappointed with the mushroom salad (small portions, few mushrooms), but the chicken liver risotto was OK. Two of us chose the lamb neck, one the pork belly for main courses. The meat was tender, the sauces meagre but tasty, but the vegetables (a croquette and greens with the lamb) was bland and tasteless. None of the dishes were properly seasoned. The Voigner wine was good. For us the visit was a disappointment; the kitchen is visible behind glass windows, and we were most surprised when a cook assistant (it could not have been a chef) arranged the French fries in a bowl with her bare hands, and put it out to be served.

Great pizza, burger and dessert with great views over False Bay. Sublime wines; do the tasting while you eat.
