“Friendly hotel in lovely setting”
Reviewed 15 March 2012

A small group of us stayed at Ravenstone Lodge for the weekend. Our room was excellent, having a view looking out over the gardens towards the lake and the fells in the background. The room was a good size and clean and comfortable. A special mention for the power shower which makes a pleasant change from the sometimes weak pressure that you sometimes get in hotels.
This hotel had a nice relaxed feel about it, there is a large conservatory seating area where we could enjoy a drink after our walk, and also a nice bar in a converted stable block.
The food for dinner and breakfast was first class, the steak was good quality and cooked to perfection, and helpings were very generous. The management and staff could not have been more helpful. We would certainly recommend this hotel to other groups or couples.

The only problem we had was our stay was too short- 3 nights was certainly not enough. Perfect location, outstanding views, brilliant room(number 6), friendly staff and owner who will make you feel as welcome as if you were a member of his family. Excellent food, first class chef, great menu catering for all appetites and tastes, we wish we were still there. Excellent value for money, we will return :-)

Room Tip: Room 6 is spacious and rustic, with a huge comfy bed!

We have just returned from a two night stay at Ravenstone Lodge. A great place. There should have been eight of us but unfortunately 2 couldn't make it so we were only six. We had two nights dinner bed and breakfast and really couldn't have asked for more. Our rooms were all warm comfortable and very clean. Our room was one of the recently refurbished ones and we had a lovely large bathroom with both bath and shower nice white fluffy towels and a very comfortable bed. (one pillow was slightly lumpy but this is only a very minor point)

The staff and owner were all extremely welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. Anthony and Karin deserve a special thanks. They couldn't have done more for us, nothing was too much trouble.

The food at both breakfast (in particular) and dinner was excellent and very well presented, with a a good choice. The dining room had only just been refurbished, it was very tastefully decorated with a great log fire to welcome us on a cold evening.

Would highly recommend you give this place a try

Room Tip: Rooms 1 - 5 over look garden rather than road - although road is not busy

Just arrived back home from my 2 night stay here and really wished I could have stayed another night. I was there with my girlfriend and 5 week old daughter and I couldnt have asked for more from the hotel. The staff couldnt do enough to help, always checking we were comfy and that we had what we needed. They always made us feel very welcome and we had some great conversations.
The building is very attractive and the rooms are well looked after and well decorated. The room we stayed in had a massive comfy bed and there was plenty of room for everything we brought. and the breakfast was very nice too.
Cannot fault this hotel in any way and cannot wait to go back soon.
Thanks to everyone that worked there during our stay

Room Tip: most rooms have a great view. I stayed in room 7 and it had a great view across the valley
