Called in by chance, yesterday as most of the other restaurants in Middleton are "Closed Wednesday." We had checked Tripadvisor to find a rating of 3.6 so we weren't expecting much, and certainly not what we got.

I ordered the sirloin {medium-well} my wife ordered the pan fried haddock, at that point, being hungry, we just crossed our fingers and hoped for the best.

When the plates were served up we had to take a second look, the sirloin was of Triple A quality, cooked to perfection and the presentation on the plate shows that the Chef cares about the work that he does.

My wife had pan fried haddock and rice, it was "as above," a decent slab of haddock, perfectly cooked, and again a work of art on the plate, that shows when folks take pride in the work they do.

We wanted to complement the Chef, but by the time we had finished our meals the Chef had finished his shift. I hope he reads this, it was the best pub meal that we have had in YEARS.

Last but not least, the waitress, she was pleasant, polite, with had a good sense of humour, that always helps when you're new to a place.

Based on what we had a 5 Star rating isn't enough, so I hope a "Thank You" to the staff who provided us with an excellent meal at a very reasonable price covers it.

4 of us had brunch today and it was fantastic. Food was cooked to perfection and very generous serving. highly recommend. Service was excellent also

Went here with my parents, the best temperature of food we received was slightly warm. My dad ordered steak, and the vegetables were so cold that the butter wouldn't even melt. I had fish since I heard so many good things about it; it came out burnt. I sent it back for another, same thing, the fish was burnt the second time too. The mozzarella sticks weren't even melted. Everything was cold and flavorless.

I had fish and chips it was amazing ,as far as discrimination no problems and felt very comfortable by the waitress . Felt uncomfortable in other restaurants with looks and comments . I travel the Nova Scotia alot and will tell everyone to try the capital . Do Breakfast!! advertise it!

The service was terrible, we were totally discriminated against and lack of respect was given to us, the manager even screamed at us. We will never go back again, which is unfortunate because this used to be an ok place to eat.
