My grandmother lives in Wem and two of my best friends are moving here. I joined them for breakfast. The hosts could not be more informed, helpful or charming. I have severe food allergies and Wendy the owner took this in her stride, providing me with the best gluten-free sausages I have ever tasted. The place is spacious, vintage decor meets all mod cons, and immaculate. The room my friend was in looked lovely and was fully equipped. There were even chickens wandering around, it could not have been nicer. Excellent job, should be thoroughly proud. It is also very conveniently located within walking distance of the train station

We stayed at Aston Lodge while at a wedding in the area. It was a great surprise that it was so lovely for such good value! The room was really spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed. Wendy was also really accommodating when I told her our arrival time had changed. We had breakfast on our second morning: there was a great spread and our hosts were really eager to please. Only (tiny!) thing is that there weren't any breakfast tea bags in the large selection we had in our room. Don't know if this is the same across all the rooms but I thought it was worth mentioning in case others felt the same. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!

Wendy and Gary are such wonderful hosts, then rooms are very nice and the breakfast is wonderful. Location is perfect for the carnival, walking distance to everything. Wem is a lovely town and the carnival is such fun
