Great walking and day out especially on a sunny day.
Lots of fun, for the fairly fit.
Give it a go, you will enjoy it

We were lucky that the weather was a bit damp because it was quiet and for the first hour or so had the place to ourselves. We explored like children, excited about what was around the corner. The grotto was the highlight and worth the walk to get there. Great fun for children, but avoid taking the buggy as uneven ground, steps and muddy in places. They had put in lots for Halloween and half term, the actors playing the troll, witch and wizard were very good. Magical place. Expect to walk a bit but you won't notice it as you'll enjoy discovering so much.

We found this place by accident and are so pleased we did. My husband and I took our 2 children aged 5 & 9 and enjoyed every minute of it, we had lots of fun whilst enjoying the outdoors and getting plenty of exercise. We took up the challenge to find all the trolls and uncover the word they were spelling....which the kids loved! It was great for them to let off steam, they could run and shout to their hearts content and didn’t bother anyone. You do need to be abled body to visit here as it involves a lot of walking and mostly on uneven terrain...so sensible shoes are a must. There are so many things to explore here....secret paths and caves all of which added to the fun and excitement. It was also great to spend a day as a family without being accosted to spend more money or have the children asking “can I have” and even better than that was my kids were both so tired when we got home they went to bed early....a definite winner!!!!!!!

Lovely walk with our children and dog. We opted for the full 3 hour strenuous walk and really enjoyed it. Children loved the troll hunt, lots to discover on route, outstanding views. There were alternate routes for people who didn't want to do the strenuous version. Staff were friendly and helpful especially the gentleman at entrance shop. Facilities were clean throughout. Tea room looked very nice but we didnt try it out as we were pressed for time. If ever we're in area again will definitely come back

I don't think we appreciated how difficult it was going to be to visit the various follies. Having said that, if you've got good shoes, a head for heights and a bit of stamina this would make a great day out!
