We recently spent just one night at this hotel however throughout such a brief stay, the service and facilities were excellent from the minute we arrived. The weather was excellent for our stay and the views to mount Fuji are stunning. The hotel is perched on the top of a hill with uninterrupted views of the mountain from all guest rooms which are tastefully designed and very clean and comfortable. I understand the hotel was recently refurbished which really sets it apart from any competition. The quality of the food, wine and service at La Colina was exemplary and we had no complaints (including with the price). There are more expensive dinner options but we did not have the opportunity to try. Breakfast was served rather than buffet which made a pleasant and welcome change from similar resort hotels. Beware if you go wine tasting that you will need to take a taxi so its not the cheapest of days out but rewarding none the less. Being so close to Tokyo I am very likely to return here. Only complaint was that there seems to be no bar to get a drink before or after dinner so take a pack of cards for entertainment as there is little else around.

Room tip: All rooms have views of Fuji so the only choices would be Western or Japanese I guess

Me and my wife choose to have wedding here at fruit park Fujiya hotel, it turned out to be the best decision, not only the view was unbeatable, the hotel crew were so friendly and helpful they successfully make that day the most wonderful day of our life, we appreciate it.
We stayed in the newlywed suite and enjoyed a lot, the amenities, onsen are all very accessible.
Will definitely come back and recommend to ones travel with families to yamanashi area.

The overall experience at the Fruit Park Fujiya Hotel was very good and would highly recommend visitors stay there. It is extremely well maintained and the staff overall were extremely friendly and accommodating to my family and I.

Location: The hotel is located on the top of one of the hills in Fuefuki area overlooking vast amounts of grape, peaches and strawberry and other fruit farms. It is a great place to get away for the weekend. It is about 10-15 minutes by car from the Yamanashi train station, so plan on taking a taxi if you do not have transportation.

Accommodations: The hotel accommodations were not bad along with the amenities that the room offered. All basic toiletries were provided along with an Onsen and massage place in the basement of the hotel. The room my family and I stayed in had a spectacular view of Mount Fuji and the surrounding mountains of Yamanashi. The night view of the Yamanashi valley was beautiful as well. Most staff did not speak fluent english, however, most of the literature we read had some form on english, so it did not impact our stay. Also, while we stayed the night, the hotel hosted two weddings and also had a short fireworks display for one of the garden weddings.

Food: The hotel food was not bad, however a bit pricy. We were able to include breakfast with our hotel stay, so that was inclusive of our package. I do recall ~$20-25 for a continental breakfast. For dinner, we at at the teppanyaki restaurant, which accommodates~10-15 people with an awesome view of Yamanashi valley. The food was excellent, but quite pricey, so if you are in the mood for teppanyaki I recommend it. The hotel also had a French restaurant, but did not get a chance to eat there.

Surrounding activities: There is a fairly decent size park with large domes on them with a cafe and Japanese restaurant that are child friendly with water activities for the kids. No slides, but it will certainly keep the kids busy. Also, there are many fruit farms that if in season, you could actually pay to pick and eat fresh fruits like grapes, peaches and strawberries. We visited in May, so strawberries were in season. We visited a farm ~5 minutes by car and picked fresh strawberries that were sweet and delicious. About a 5 minute walk from the hotel, there is an establishment that sells local wine, juices and other souvenirs along with train like vehicle that takes you through the surrounding park. For the go cart junkies, Yamanashi go-cart track is about 5 minutes by foot up the road and seemed to attract a decent amount of people during the day.

Overall, it was a great experience and highly recommend the hotel if your intent is to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I plan to go back in late August or September to pick some grapes and enjoy the Yamanashi wine in the surrounding vineyards.

Room tip: I highly recommend when you make your reservations, select the side of the hotel that has the view of the valley and mount Fuji in the backdrop. The morning view of mount Fuji is breathtaking and the night view of the Yamanashi was really nice as well.

The hotel is located up in the hills in a fruit park, they call it a fruit park but from what I could see most of it was just a normal park ( note it's very open and has very little shade). Though the whole area is surrounded by fruit farms.

The hotel is probably the main stomping ground for all the locals in the valley, they seem to specialize in weddings. The view at night of the Valley lights is very pretty.

The hotel is about a 15min taxi ride from the train station, even though it primarily focus is on the Japanese market when we arrived they made a real effort to be helpful, and were some what apologetic that they have to ask us 101 questions on what time and what style of meal we wanted.

Like many japanese hotel feeding time works on a shift system. There's even a ding ding alarm to remind folks it's meal time. We once were 5 mins late and when we arrive the food was already on the table.

They have western and japanese style rooms, we had the western and while the decor was tired it was clean and comfortable.

They still believe in the old school definition of a good meal is determine by the number of courses. As we could not read the all japanese menus the food just kept coming I think it must have been 8 courses?

The staff went out of their way to be helpful.

Onsen was nice with an out door section, they have a massage section strangely enough in the middleman of the corridor,

For me holidays are  supposed to be relaxed affairs eat when and what  I feel like so this regimented system puts the pressure on. But in fairness so far all the Japanese hotels I have been in that's the local ways.

When you book the fruit farm trip make sure you really spell out you want to pick the fruit, as one of our ticket was a eat as much as you like type where you turn up at the farm they just chuck a tray full of peaches and a knife at you.

To be honest the fruit picking session could have easily been a day trip from Tokyo. About an hours ride and there was no real reason the stay in the hotel.

But if you really have to stay and you don't mind the fixed time and  limited choice meals. Then this hotel is a perfectly acceptable choice. Try and avoid the rooms near the lift as they have a terrace just outside where they have evening drinks and it can get noisy.

Also of special note the taxi driver called No to again supper helpful and even waited at all the various places with the meter turned off.
