just back from skiing in saint sorlin where we stayed in residence odalys les bergers. I couldn't recommend these apartments more. the reception staff were more than helpful and friendly, even remembered that we were English so would greet us every day with a friendly hello. the rooms were small but cosy and comfy, more than adequate for a weeks skiing holiday. if we were to return we'd bring a dvd player and scart/hdmi lead as there isn't any tv, and we stayed in a few nights, but we drove so could just load the car up. the kids used the pool a couple of times, whilst I sat on the loungers reading - win win.
the location is great for access to the slopes and the kids skiing lessons. there is a bus that runs up and down from the centre of the village but the last bus up to the appartments is at 7pm, however the walk isn't too bad.
the nearest supermarket has everything you'd need, you can even order a pre-cooked chicken and potatoes for €13 if you do fancy staying in.
in the centre is a great bar called Le Centre, the burgers are amazing and the service is great too. €3.20 for half a larger/glass of wine. At the bottom of the slopes by the 2 chair lifts is another great restaurant le chalet de moulin. you can also catch the bus from the front of the restaurant back up the hill if you don't fancy jumping on the chairlift and skiing round.
we're thinking of returning next year and if we do will be booking these apartments again as we were so impressed and pleased with them.

The rooms are fine, we had a reasonable view, easy parking and there's a good pool.
But, this is really commerce at its worst. Wifi 5 euros a day, tv 40 euros a week. Don't be fooled by the headline price. There were no dishwasher tablets, t towels, salt, washing up liquid, bin bags, chopping board, sponge, cloth... Etc. you can buy these locally at rip off prices, then throw most of it away. A waste of money and resources. And the lady at the desk? She is just unpleasant and unwilling to help (I speak fluent French and tried my best to be polite).
The location isn't great, a fair walk to the piste with skis.
Our apartment was under the reception area which was used as a social area late every night. The building is popular with young skiers.
So if you can get it cheap, and come prepared, then you may find it acceptable. Frankly though I'd rather see this business model fail, when other places are offering a better service.

Room Tip: Refuse room 102, it is right under the reception lounge and pool table area.

The location was good - close to the bus stop. The appartment was clean. The rooms weren't very big but comfortable and cosy. The service left something to be desired, especially the lady, but still it was nice place to stay in.
