I spent a lot of time researching places and listening to advice from friends about where to stay in Niseko, and am so glad we chose the Maples. The location is terrific, right on the family run, and an easy walk to the main village intersection/shops but not right on the main town road. Booking with Nisade made everything very easy - airport transfers, ski hire (you can return them in the lobby which was so much better than trekking back to the store). Chose a 3 bedroom apartment with a street view, which cost less than a ski run view, and was glad we had that side of the building as watching the street life was interesting. It had a beautiful view of Mt Yotei, and the cushioned platform sitting area next to the windows was a big hit with everyone. The apartment was completely quiet which was a huge plus. There is no onsen, but most hotel onsens seem to be tiny anyway, whereas the hotel right next door has a very large one with multiple pools including one that is outside (albeit under a balcony) for Y2000 that we used most nights. Super happy with our stay.
