Absolute Perfection

Review of SANSUI NISEKO
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 5 Feb 2024via mobile
This hotel is absolute perfection. It is brand new and so gorgeous.

Perfect location: The hotel is ski in/ski out to the Grand Hirafu slopes, which is great. The hotel is located steps away from the Grand Hirafu Welcome Center, which is where the Sapporo airport shuttles drop you off. The hotel is within walking distance of Rhythm (a huge, great ski and snowboard rental shop). The hotel also did offer their own ski and snowboard rentals as well, FYI.

Accomodations: The room was so gorgeous, clean, and modern. The amenities were perfect: Rain shower, coffee/tea, skincare and toiletries, etc. The skincare products were so nice, I ended up buying a few from the hotel gift shop. Also, each hotel room has a dedicated ski locker on the basement level which is so convenient.

Amenities: There is a gift shop with food, beverages, and convenience items in the lobby. The public onsens were incredible. They are male-only and female-only respectively. My boyfriend and I also booked a time slot in the private family onsen which was very nice as well. We did not end up going to the bar in the hotel, but we heard it is one of the best bars in the area.

An extra special thank you shoutout to Andrew and Tara. On the date of our check-out, there was a large storm (yay snow!) that resulted in the train being shut down and all the shuttles were already reserved. Andrew and Tara were able to book us the last private transfer to our hotel in Sapporo at a great rate. They literally saved the day, we were so grateful.

This hotel is absolutely incredible. It is not a matter of IF we’ll come back, but WHEN. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Niseko.

First impression of this hotel is warm and simple, but the service is beyond expectation! From check in with a full friendly staff giving me and family welcome drink hot green tea and red bean mochi such a good start for journey to stay. This hotel was very convenient with a free shuttle service for you to going around if you don’t have car but we need to book in advance haha sometimes we can’t use it due some availability that maybe some suggestion to the management to have more shuttle/drivers due winter season, the room was so nice with a view of ski in/out and mountain. Around the hotel also have plenty restaurant you can choose but you need to book in advance also, overall we love to stay here and we recommend this hotel! Definitely will stay again if we back to Niseko in the future! And many thanks to manager Yuko and also Jovi, driver with a french speaker sorry we forget the name but he was so friendly and our kids was happy talking with him, and all the Sansui staff for a brilliant service.

Fantastic location, fantastic service, fantastic facilities. I visited in April when occupancy is low, hence breakfast was provided in a set rather than the regular buffet, which was fantastic nonetheless.

If I have to nitpick, the only thing they could improve on are the bedsheets, which could be softer.

Sansui was not yet opened when we make the decision to stay there for our honeymoon. No review was available before we made the booking for 3 nights at the Sansui’s Studio. We don’t know what exactly to expect. Thankfully, we are delightfully surprised. The hotel really delivered a wonderful experience for our first-time visiting Niseko.
Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the receptionists. They were polite and friendly. Our room was clean and tidy. It is not large but it fits 2 unfolded 30-inch luggages. We have wonderful Mt. Yotei view. We registered private snowboarding lessons via hotel and rent gear in in-house rental shop. I would suggest visitors head down to the rental shop on B/F to complete the fitting process for your gears before the day of lesson. The staff will store your gears in corresponding locker. You will be able to put your gears the next day in no time. The “Ski in ski out” entrance is right next to the rental shop which is very convenient. We really enjoyed the shower and private Onsen after class.
Our car was parked in front of the hotel during our stay since the basement park is already full. We had to move our car two times during our stay upon hotel staff’s request due to the limited parking spot. While it was a bit inconvenient, the staff was very apologetic and understanding which I appreciated. I would suggest guests try to reserve a basement parking spot because there is only very few available. We didn’t use the bus service heading to supermarket/ restaurants this time, but we will try next time. We opt to cook for lunch and dinner since the produces and meats are such great value in Hokkaido and Sansui’s kitchen is very well equipped.

Pros: Good location near beginner slope, private snowboarding lesson, private Onsen with Mt. Yotei, door camera, USB C power outlet, Germany made ROSENTHAL cups, ZOJIRUSHI kettle, well equipped kitchen with 1 pan 1 pot, dish soap, large HITACHI washer dryer with laundry detergent, Imabari towels, towel heater, ICOR skincare set, rental gears in good condition

Cons: Small car park, body wash not suitable for dry/sensitive skin (probably whole Hokkaido), no body lotion

I am not sure guests are able to see Mt. Yotei in every single rooms. There are no Mt. Yotei view for selection in official online reservation. I do hope Sansui could maintain the quality when we visit next time.

Room tip: Try to reserve parking spot in peak season, Visit rental shop before the day of ski / snowboarding

Our family of 4 stayed in the delux 2br and had an amazing time. Rooms are large and had an excellent view of mt Yotei. The children still can't stop talking about how comfortable the bed/pillows were. Ski in/out was excellent when combined with the in-house ski rental/lockers downstairs. The staff went out of their way to make sure we got everything we wanted. Look forward to staying here again in the future.
