We were staying at the Grand Sirenis Matlali Hills, so this was part of our all-inclusive package. We ate lunch at Eva Mandarina a couple of times and it was some of the best food of the trip. They have some "real" Mexican food and lots of local seafood on the menu. The aguachile was fantastic. Also enjoyed the ceviche and the carne asada tacos.
Service was friendly and prompt. We had two waiters consistently over the two days we visited and they were great. The one guy was funny and great to chat with. Drinks were strong!
We found the beach to be very windy (the local kitesurfers seem to congregate there in the afternoon) so didn't stay on the loungers for hours. The plus side was that it didn't feel as hot as it was. Given that this was all-inclusive for us, we used it as a base to explore the town/beach on foot. We always had a warm welcome when we came back for another drink and a snack.
