What an amazing location. I thought our bath had a great view over fields, but the view here out over the loch is perfect. The boathouse is beautifully appointed with everything you could want for a relaxing few days plus more. It's a great location for walking and cycling and I even managed a short but freezing dip in the loch. Would love to come back in better weather and make use of the picnic shed or have a bonfire on the beach.

We spent 3 nights at Dipper boathouse. The views were amazing. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable and all the little extras made it extra special. We enjoyed watching the red squirrels, woodpecker, blue tits, great tits and buzzard. We hope to return again next year.

Had a wonderful week in this property. This property is situated in a beautiful part of Scotland and you needn't leave the house to enjoy the stunning vista. We took the trouble to bring a camera and tripod which was set up to view the bird feeder. Lots of wildlife to be seen including Osprey, Red squirrel, Great Spotted Woodpecker and of course a 'Dipper'. The house is exceptionally well equipped and is truly 5*. Make sure you bring everything down from the car left up at the top of the hill as it is a half mile drive back up the track with 3 gates to stop and open/close :)
There is plenty to do nearby. The Crannog Centre in Kenmore is worth a visit. The Inn on the Tay (opposite the Highland Choclateer) at Grandtully serves wonderful food. Killin is another lovely village on the loch to visit and there is a nice café overlooking the rapids there. Aberfeldy has The Old Mill Bookshop and Café -it is a wonderful place for lunch. 'Homer' next door to it has some nice home furnishing items. Dewars World of Whisky Distillery Shop is interesting and if you drive up the lane behind the Distillery for about a mile there is a wonderful furniture shop called 'Spirit of Wood'.
Further afield we strayed to Helensburgh and found a fantastic Gift Shop called 'Anne of Loudounville' in West Princes Street. Plenty of scope there for buying tasteful Scottish made items.
This place is so good we have already booked it for next year.

We stayed in Dipper Boathouse for 4 days .Penny welcomed us on arrival and took us by 4wd down to the boathouse on the shores of Loch Tay. What a spectacular B&B it is. Lovely roaring fire, Penny's home cooking , snow capped mountains, vases of daffodils. Everything about this B&B is just wonderful. We didnt want to leave. Penny went out of her way to help us, showing us where to go and what to do. It was so lovely coming home to the boathouse every day and relaxing by the fire with a glass of wine, watching the animals outside, the red squirrels, baby lambs, lots of birds......this B and B is a must, We loved every minute.

Just spent a week in otter boathouse and from the second we arrived we were made to feel special, Penny and the hens greeted us as we pulled up and Roland took us down to the boathouse and showed us around. A couple of red squirrels were on the nut feeders as we arrived. Inside is beautifully done to a very high standard and has that wow factor, Penny and Roland have thought of everything, fresh flowers, luxury toiletries, homemade bread and cake, free range eggs (from there own hens I believe) as well as tea, coffee, milk, jams, oils, spices etc. all the things one would usually need to take with them when self catering. The log burner, super comfy bed and underfloor heating in the bathroom all added to the holiday experience. Then there is the view of the loch and mountains, simply stunning. There is use of a shed (as Roland called it),but infact it was a lovely summerhouse well equipped with all you need if you wish to BBQ or just have a picnic ( there is a picnic area in front of the shed on the edge of the loch). As well as red squirrels we saw Ospreys on the loch, hare, woodpeckers a whole variety of other birds including the resident pheasant. This place is perfect and we will definitely be going back in the near future. Anyone thinking of staying here will not be disappointed.
