We researched this, our 2nd visit to Ischia. The first time we stayed in the elegant, beautiful Isabella Regina two years ago. We didn't book that one again because they were booked with the Safari event. We chose the Hotel San Giorgio Therme because of their access to the beach, by all accounts the best beach on Ischia. The front desk staff is aloof, do not speak much English. We had a sea-view room, which was simple but pretty terra-cotta colors and a beautiful view. There was no guide in the room for how to call housekeeping, the hours of the restaurant or sauna, anything. My husband found when he went to book a clay treatment that the appointments only went until 10 a.m. There is no room service. The bar had a party on Thursday and Friday but tonight, Saturday, there were zero people in the bar. The bartender said that maybe the people are too old and are in bed. We did not book with a meal plan, but their times are for one hour: dinner is now going to be from 1930-2030. From our sea-view room on the 2nd floor, there was loud plate-clackling daily from people eating breakfast. There are many wonderful restaurants on the beach, so there is no reason to complain about the hotel offerings. We asked for late checkout because we'll be taking the bus to the ferry port to Naples. We were told no. This hotel, ultimately, as no personality. It has nothing that sets it apart. And it has no elevators, for our physically-challenged guests. There is much walking involved, even many stairs.
