The accommodation was poor, the breakfast that was paid for was not edible for the family pet let alone for human consumption. The place wss full of arrogent and ignorant German backpackrrs who always wanted everything their way even at 0330 in the morning when they were told to keep the noise down.

We stayed here just two weeks ago and had an excellent time. I was daunted at first by some of the reviews I have read, we were lucky I guess because we were given a two roomed bungalow with kitchenette, wonderful sea view and a private balcony, room 402 if you wish to make a request. The accomodation was clean and ample for a family of four and at a bargain price too we paid less than £500 for a week in August, now you wouldn,t get anything remotely like this in the UK. The weather was a blistering 40 degree and yes we had ants but they werent a problem, afterall what can you do about ants at this time of year in what is essentially a chalet..the only drawback for us was the 3 flights of stairs we had to navigate with a pushchair and kids and paraphinalia but we managed, this was not a problem, the swimming pools were great for the kids safe, clean and well maintained what else would you want in that heat. The staff were very accomodating assisting with day trips to Vesuvio and Pompeii and gave us a free 6am taxi (we were so grateful for this )to our airport transfer bus Curreri viaggi (which picks up at Meta church and drops off at Naples airport departure gates and costs ten euro pp..much cheaper than private transfer)Meta is a lovely quiet cobbled town with nice views, nice places to grab a pizza and regular bus route to Sorrento. Overall we had a fantastic stay would definately reccommend and would stay here again

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and would stay again. There were many good points and some negative points.
Friendly and helpful English-speaking staff, beautiful sea views from most points on site, our bungalow patio overlooked the sea, the pool area and gardens were pleasant and attractive, my children (aged 12 and 14) loved the pool and slides, there is also a pool for younger children.

The bungalow kitchenette was a little dated and the mattresses had seen better days, but all was clean and it didn't matter that the space was quite small as you have the patio outside.

In August there were a lot of ants around and they sometimes made their way into the bungalow, but I feel confident that this would have been swiftly dealt with by the staff had it become a huge problem for us.

We didn't hire a car as Meta has excellent public transport links to Naples, Pompei and Sorrento. The train station is 15 mins walk away and the bus stops very close to the site. There is also an airport bus to Naples airport. We found all public transport to be reliable and cheap, albeit often crowded.

We only visited the beach in Meta once. With our Bleu Village 30% discount we spent almost 40 euros for 4 of us to sit on the beach. I know that this isn't unusual in Italy, but we didn't feel it was worth it. There may be free beaches available somewhere off the beaten track.

There's a supermarket and several restaurants within 10 mins walk to Bleu Village. The village of Meta is like a quiet, sleepy suburb or bustling Sorrento and that's what I loved about it; I enjoyed being away from the international tourist hubbub and felt more immersed in the Italian holidaymaker's scene.

Bleu Village evening entertainment is very much geared towards the Italian families. It focused on lots of singing and dancing for adults and kids. One night there was a rendition of the Lion King and the other night it was Grease. You can take it or leave it - bungalows are not on top of the entertainment area so it's quite easy to avoid if it's not your bag!

I didn't like the poolside entertainment which ran for 2 hours in the morning and 2hours in the afternoon as it was too noisy and the sound quality was terrible. The pool is open 9,30 - 6.30 pm .

There are a lot of steps on site which didn't bother us, but if you have small children or are not so mobile I would request a bungalow closer to reception and the pool area,

It was a beautiful and relaxing place to spend 7 days in August.

Room tip: Ask for a seaview patio and close to reception if you're not very mobile as there are many steps here!

We were hesitant about our trip to Bleu Village following reading reviews however we were pleasantly surprised we booked Bleu village direct online for a very reasonable cost for our family . We have three children aged 6,12 and 14 . The cabin /chalet bungalow whichever you prefer to call it was more than suitable as a base . The air conditioning worked well . Yes it was all quite basic but the shower worked well , the bed was comfortable there is more than enough space for a family of five within the two roomed style chalet . We were left wondering why the poor reviews .
The pool area was good for the children and the slides were an extra that the children enjoyed . The part about wearing swimming hats put me off a bit at first however once in everyone has to so it is not such a big deal . we took some from England however i believe that these can be purchased at the snack bar .
Lots of locals enjoy the use of the pool area within the day by purchasing day tickets .
The views out to sea are fantastic . The steps down to the beach area are a bit like bootcamp and exhausting but worth knowing that there is a shuttle bus from the reception area that we learnt half way through trip .
As a base this place is fantastic if you are looking to stay in your room or have lots to do at your base this may not be the place for you -we always hire a car . That is a whole different story here as the roads are crazy but don't let this put you off ,enjoy the challenge .
Staff were helpful and friendly .
The evening entertainment was poor as we walked up from our evening out on one occasion to see what it was like and it was very poor .
If you need a pleasant ,reasonably priced base with air con ,good views and a swimming pool to enjoy the area from this is the right place for you .
