This is a beautiful hotel with very attentive staff and a stunning terrace overlooking the Loire and a lovely pool. We stayed here for a week in July - August.
The restaurant is well deserving of its Michelin starred status - delicious and incredible food- and the sommelier recommended an excellent Vouvray 2005 which we drank a lot of during our stay! However, there is no casual dining option at all, and so dinner for a family of five would cost €400 per night approx!! Breakfast for five of us worked out at €90 a day and it is next to impossible to work out the opening hours of the local boulangerie and charcuterie! They all close at random times and days and on 31st July most of the shops closed for a 3 week holiday- in the heart of the Touraine tourist region??!?
I would definitely recommend this hotel for a romantic getaway for a couple for a night or two, or for real foodies, but if it wants to appeal to a wider audience it needs to introduce a brasserie menu so that you are not obliged to pay Michelin prices to eat there
