A Christmas card from the proprietors reminds us that we did not write a review after our last visit in September 2012. We spent a week touring the Black Forest region and walking in the hills. It was wonderful and so relaxing. We had learned on previous short stays that the local guest card gives free train and bus travel in the region so the car remained in the hotel car park. Baden Baden to Frieberg on a double deck train - fabulous. Returning each day to the comfort of our hotel and great food from Miguel made the stay perfect.
If you are visiting the Black Forest then you should try Gasthaus Blume. It is centrally located and in a quiet village with the rail station just across the road. The welcome from the owners is wonderful and they are always up-dating the rooms. Fantastic value makes it a perfect choice so we plan to return as soon as possible.

We were looking for somewhere to stay and called in to see if they had a room available. The lady spoke English and therefore made it all the easier.

Fortunately they did had a room available so we stayed just one night. The hotel and our room were spotlessly clean. Our room was very comfortable, a brilliant shower and complimentary wi-fi. We enjoyed a meal in their restaurant in the evening and breakfast in the morning was typical German fayre which we enjoyed and set us up for the next day of our trip.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Would I go back? Yes - a beautiful part of the world and a good spot to stay.

this hotel is actually offering some mini-apartments with also a small kitchen.
the structure looks new and is very clean.
the location is nothing special as it is in an anonymous village and 5 meters from the main road. there are certainly better locations nearby but it is a good starting point for a visit to the black forest.
the wifi was quite weak in our room but still usable if locating the PC in the correct place...

We stayed as a family at this hotel in August 2012 and husband has stayed again since with two motorbiking friends. The hotel had had its bedrooms tastefully refurbished. Loved the room numbers. Breakfast was relaxed, food tasty. We ate in on several evenings and enjoyed the varied cuisine. Adelheid, the owner, did everything she could to make our trip memorable including baking a cake for our daughter's AS Level results. Lots of information was available on things to do, nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. Hausach is a small town but does have a wonderful outdoor pool.

Another accidental find that turned out to be an excellent choice.

HOTEL: typical good German style hotel: very clean, well run and helpful staff (English speaking). Very good & fluffy duvet! I took the apartment with TV in separate living area, small fridge and coffee machine. Breakfast buffet is typical German breakfast with a few choices for each category. Location is 5-minute walk along flat road from train station. Wifi is good in bedroom but drops off in rest of apartment.

TOWN: didn't really explore the town as it's doesn't have old town centre/nature reserves etc. Two supermarkets & a gardening centre near hotel. There's a walk/bike path but not sure where it leads.

ACCESS: Free transport with KONUS card! Hausach is a must stop for the black forest train line to Offenburg (not all trains stop at the highly promoted Gengenbach). It's also starting point for another train line to the super cute town of Schiltach Mitte (MUST VISIT!!!) and big town Freudenstadt (nicest Italian ice cream). There's an early morning bus to Gutach and Triberg (highly recommended as you can't see as many Gutach old farm houses on train rides).
