Stayed in the hostel for four nights in a dorm room and one night in a private room. I had to move to a private room for one night as I booked rather late (three weeks before my trip) and there were no dorms available that night. The staff were very helpful though and kept in touch via email, updating me on the availability of their rooms. Even during my stay, the staff were all too willing to help with my planning and gave some useful tips for getting around. They were also kind enough to store my baggage for me during the days I had to switch rooms.
The hotel itself is close to the train station which made it very convenient. Upon first arrival though, if you have large/heavy bags, you may have some trouble finding the station exit with an elevator (there's only one exit with an elevator -- others have escalators, some have only stairs). Jimbocho is also a nice, quiet town with some interesting shops and quite a lot of small restaurants and izakayas. For those who don't want breakfast at the hostel (which really is just coffee, tea, and bread), there are convenience stores and cafes in the area as well.More
