The heart of this part is a pond that is the source of the Tachiaikawa River (although the river now flows underground in its upper reaches, so the outflow from the pond here isn't visible). The pond is home to fish, turtles and waterfowl as well as a small shrine on an island. It's pleasant to stroll around the pond and sometimes it's possible to rent a paddle boat and get onto the pond, too. The other highlight of the park is the small petting zoo in one corner.
