This is one of those classic Japanese parks which is small but has everything you could possibly want, especially for an afternoon with the kids. A key highlight is a cute little petting zoo which has rabbits, dogs and gunie pigs to hold - very quaint, small and with friendly staff. Then, as you stroll around, you see an immaculately maintained park with a playground, a small template in the middle - and the showcase is the lake in the center where you can rent rowboats for just JPY200 (that's under US$2!) - and that's all the time you need for this tiny pond. This is a local treasure and pleasure. the only challenge i see is access. i couldn't figure out the trains without a major walk so i took a taxi, which from downtown Tokyo, is a bit expensive. So, this place is a bit remote - but worth the journey to get away. Again, perfect for kids.
