We went to Ichiran Ramen twice within a span of 6 days. Would have gone back for more if time permits. As it was winter, it was really apt to have this hearty ramen & also to keep away from the cold for a bit!
This ramen chain was recommended by other family members who visited before & it is opened 24 hours so it was befitting that we directly head over the nearest restaurant (@ Shinjuku) after we checked in our hotel at 11pm.
You would need to buy your noodle (with add ons) coupons from the vending machine before given the customized order chit. All seats are in individual cubicle as one is supposed to enjoy & saviour this hot bowl of delicious ramen!
Would recommend (regular) spicy soup (not that spicy!) to add some kick to the ramen & it's also a must to order the "soft-boiled" egg & extra seaweed!!! Personally I prefer the stronger soup taste with lotsa garlic cloves. You need to peel the egg by yourself, unlike those in Malaysia where they already peel & put inside the soup.
Should you need extra ramen noodles, they will place a small lil tray (for extra noodles) on your cubicle. Just place the lil tray above small patch in front of you & you'd hear a "musical" sound whereby waiter/waitress will then bring extra noodles to you after paying for it.
Interesting & convenient concept. Just eat & go. Be mindful of long queue during lunch / dinner. Breakfast or Supper is the best time to go ;)
