One stop shop for all things Japanese. If you’re short on time it is the place to go. This mall had all your typical Japanese stores and food. If your visiting the tower or aquarium it would be worth it to visit. However, the stores themselves are small, for example if you visit Uniqlo you will find that the selection is limited and you can find a better selection at Ginza or Shinjuku.

Solamachi is Tokyo shopping summed up in one place. It has all the obligatory Tokyo stores that tourists usually go to when in Tokyo. There's a Daiso, Uniqlo, Pokemon Store, Studio Ghibli Store, a drug store, a ton of souvenir food shops, stationery shop, made in japan shops, a place to buy fake food kits, crepes, bubble waffle crepes, takoyaki, matcha sweets, a tea store.

If you're in Tokyo and want to go to all the touristy shopping places but don't have a lot of time, Solamachi is your best bet. Some of the stuff in a couple of the stores were slightly more expensive than if you were to buy it at local malls just 15 minutes away from the skytree.

The mall is huge, though. Plan on staying here a couple of hours just to visit all the stores. They also have detailed maps of the mall. It's confusing at first, but it only takes like 15 minutes to grasp it.

Access is great. You can get off at the Skytree station or the Oshiage station on the other side. They even have a bus at the backside of the building that goes to Disneyland/Disneysea and back.

Here during the end of June and their summer sale has started! First time I came was on a Thursday and the crowd was not bad at all but on Friday, and during a rainy day, the crowd size tripled. Lots of shops with cute things. Stationery stores with different types of pens and papers, etc. On the lowest level, they have all the sweets shops with free tasting. Come in with your passport and get a coupon book at the information desk and also get tax free in some shops.
