The hotel is off the beaten path. It was a challenge to find using Google Maps.
The staff was nice upon arrival. My room was tiny and I requested an upgrade. The staff took me to a room on the top floor indicating it was an upgrade with more room the room appeared to be the same size.

Once I settled in refreshed to meet my colleague and noticed hair on the sink. Disregarded the hair and kept moving. Later when I returned and showered for the evening is when I noticed hair in the shower as well. This grossed me out. Got dressed was going to stop by the front desk on my way out but they had a line and they were busy. Next morning I informed them of my concerns. They were apologetic. Requested a call from the manager. He did not call. Days later he sent an email offering an apology. I sent back an email inquiring about the email and not a call. I also requested a portion of my money be refunded. He said his English wasn't good and that's why he wrote instead of emailing and he declined my request. There are plenty of great hotel options in the area. I probably won't use this property again .

Stayed here for several days four years ago, and it was immaculate. This trip was very a different experience. My wife and I stayed in 2 separate rooms as they are very small. Both were unacceptable to start. When I showed attached pictures to the front desk, they were unconcerned. We demanded a cleanup - or new rooms, and got new rooms only with great difficulty. They insisted we pack up, check out before 11 and check back in after 3. They wanted someone with us the entire move. Refused to let us speak to a manager, saying "none was available." Even new rooms, though better, were worn. Not always vacuumed, garbage sometimes not emptied, under the bed very dusty, often long hairs found in room after cleanup. (I have short hair)
On the plus side - Great location. Quiet rooms. Comfortable bed. Lots of hot water. However, polite but extremely unhelpful and unconcerned staff. Worn rooms often not cleaned well. Can no longer recommend.

small but clean room and fully of amenities. very close to train station/underground and Ueno area and Asakusa can also reach by walking. Good choice for this amount of budget. I'd also recommend a very nice cafe if you love coffee; Route Books is very close to the hotel by walking. As
