Visited here one Friday evening recently, after a bike ride in the forest. Food is soo much better than your average Indian restaurant. More interesting choices and it's properly home cooked. Often it's the same chunks of chicken thrown in the sauce of your choice, but you could tell this had actually been cooked in the sauce from scratch, and it was nice, succulent pieces of meat. Even the poppadoms and chutneys were excellent - my (Indian) husband actually asked where the pickles were from, they were that good!

We've eaten in and had a take away, and we've been very impressed with the quality of the food and service. The menu is excellent with a mixture of original and traditional Indian foods. The pub is excellent, tucked away in the beautiful Forest of Dean.

The restaurant in this pub is a wonderful Indian with exceptional service, the owner Ali was helpful and accommodating and the food was among the best Indian food we had ever eaten. A special mention must also go to the young waitress Elouise who is a real credit to the place.

Just moved into the area. Our estate agent recommended this restaurant. He was spot on! Excellent vegetarian choices for us. We ate here with friends on Saturday night. Considering it was bank holiday weekend we were surprised that it wasn't packed as the the service, surroundings, friendliness and food were excellent - other than to echo a previous comment that it could be a bit spicier. But that's just my taste. The rest of the party were happy. This is now our local so looking forward to many return visits.

We visited the Indian restaurant attached to the Forge Hammer pub on a Sunday evening recently staying in nearby Lydbrook (well over 25 minute walk!) - it seemed to be pretty much the only open place we could find!

The food was really tasty, generous sized portions and at a great price - exactly what we were after a long day. The Cobra beer on tap must have been the best I've ever had too!

As it was a special occasion, we mentioned this to our waiter who to our surprise brought us out a bottle of bubbly to celebrate - really generous!

Would definitely visit when we are back in the area, thank you!
