The house is nice, and breakfast is included in the adjacent B&B, Nepenthe. The road to get here is challenging. You need a 4 wheel drive, IMO. The owners made sure we knew this. Sadly, the clouds never parted enough to see the volcano. Enjoyed our stay.
This is a spacious house with a well-maintained private pool. Excellent breakfasts are included at the Nepenthe bed and breakfast, whose property the house sits on. There is a completely stocked kitchen with full size appliances, including a dishwasher. The furniture both inside and out accommodates a large group. It is especially delightful to sit on the swinging chairs and watch the birds by the pool. The road up to El Castillo is rough but not more so than many around popular tourist areas elsewhere. There are a number of nearby attractions and it is not at all a big problem to drive back and forth to the La Fortuna area. This was my first experience in a rental house in CR. I would recommend asking about the functionality of included options. We had no WIFI for the three days that we were at Oropendola.
