We booked the Coach and Horses as a half-way meeting place between Ringwood and Newbury. Outside looks a bit tired but don't be put off - the staff are very friendly and efficient and the restaurant has a homely atmosphere. The menu has plenty of choice with a few unusual items. Six of us met for lunch and we were all very happy with the service and food.

We were at a conference locally and decided to go out in the local vicinity and whilst it was a short taxi journey it was well worth the trip.

Friendly atmosphere, bar staff and local customers were very nice and chatty.

Worth a visit if you are in the area.

The roast beef and roast lamb at this unassuming local pub were fresh and perfectly cooked, and the chef sufficiently skilled to understand that you can carve different temperatures from the same joint depending on from where you carve. The vegetables were also perfectly cooked, not overdone but properly cooked. A welcome contrast to and much better food than the nearby Half Moon and Spread Eagle (avoid for food, although they do have a clean pool table). The Coach and Horses is well set up for a game of darts also. Will come again.

This is a very cute pub this is my second time of going, food is wonderfully priced, portions are big so select carefully......if you're a starter, main and dessert person it's not going to happen I am and couldn't!!! Everyone enjoyed the food, staff are very friendly and happy for feedback. An amazing open log fire which they tend to throughout the evening. Would highly recommend......we travelled from Andover to go

Lovely local pub, open fire keeps the place lovely and warm. Very friendly staff, even give tasters on the different ciders, fantastic menu. The portion sizes are excellent, especially for northern lads like me. They're not shy with the house wine either. Fantastic place, they couldn't be better if they tried. Excellent
