“A perfect day in September! Cream tea in a cider apple scented garden!”

We picked up a leaflet in our cottage in Wells and decided to head down to Perry's one day. Apples were being pressed by the wagon load and we could smell apple juice as soon as we'd parked up under the apple trees in the orchard. The place was buzzing (literally!) and it was fascinating seeing the apples being pressed by rack and cloth and browsing the museum. Then we ventured in to the shop and tasted some amazing cider (and obviously bought some too!) and we finished our visit with an amazing clotted cream tea in the garden! I'll dream of this place now every September! (we visited in September 2011)

went to Perry's so my husband could do a little cider tasting absolutely wonderful place no limit on the amount of different cider's to taste after he had finished we had lunch I had the Perry's platter which consisted on three different types of meat and three different types of cheese and a glass of cider all included in the price, hubby had cheese ploughman's lunch with every thing you could think of on the plate and a coffee, we had a basket of fresh bread and loads of butter to share between us, all for £16.95 excellent value for money and staff very friendly and welcoming would highly recommend

We finished a 40 mile cycle ride here and what a place to finish. The 'gunge' cake and rhubarb and ginger cake were to die for and we loved trying the different ciders at our leisure and deciding which one to buy. We bought the new Grey Heron and Barn Owl varieties and took these with us to watch sunset at the beach...lovely! It was a lovely way to spend a sunny afternoon with a relaxed atmosphere, delicious cider and food from the tea shop and beautiful surroundings. Ps agree the museum could be a bit more informative about cider making and the history of Perrys. Maybe some tours too?

Regular spot for a light lunch and buying souvenirs. Good lunches for children too. You can buy cider straight from the barrel too!

Off the beaten track just believe your sat nav as the road gets narrower!! The museum is just a jumble of old things including farming and brewing equipment. The notices show how cider is made in the traditional way although for most of the year nothing is happening. Nice to see the apples in the orchard.
Both bottled and draught cider are on offer for tasting and this is very relaxed, grab a small glass and taste what you want - in the shop where they are all on sale. Some beautiful ciders and ones that should suite all palates.
